OK, so there were no IDF forces near any of the borders or breach points, at least none whom were effective. So where were the regular police in these neighborhoods? In the US and most other civilized countries, you would have a 100 police, including SWAT, within minutes. Someone please explain this!

I lived in a kibbutz for 10 years. It is a peaceful self-governing farming community. There has never been a reason for police to be in the neighborhood unless there is a crime like robbery or such. There is a local police station near who answers their calls. I'm sure you must realize by now that 1000s of rockets were flying into Israel to distract from the fact that terrorists entered the community. People were not aware at 6:30-7am what was happening. It was a Saturday, the Shabbath and a holiday. Hamas planned this attack very well, knowing that security would be light. It is also a fact that Hamas killed the soldiers in the border guard station first, so no one got the call of infiltrators at first. Continue to watch the heroic citizens, who have all served in the IDF, fight for their lives. It's incredible and also very sad. Hamas has killed the smallest chance for the Palestinians to have their own state. The world is still digesting and uncovering this massacre. On top of that there's hostages to worry about. Think of yourself if your family were kidnapped or shot in cold blood. I'm sure you can find it in your heart to support Israel's right to exist. The border towns had a decent relationship with normal Palestinian families, they thought. @@11bravo57

Because of the bombs and because Hamas uses them as a human shield. On the other hand, Hamas went door to door and massacred the Jews! In their house, sleeping, at a festival. Massacre of Jews including babies, children, women and old people. They were murdered by the hands of Hamas and not a bomb. They were raped, burned, suffocated and abused them and their bodies.
