When I was 15 my parents forced me to take therapy sessions to “fix” me. My parents went to my therapist and told him to do his best to make me straight. My therapist instead told me that I was fine just like I was and even introduced me to other gay teens and we became really good friends. Until this day my parents don’t know that the therapist actually aided me in accepting myself, the complete opposite of what they wanted him to do.

When I turned 18, I took a greyhound bus to CA from MA to be with my girlfriend. I didn’t tell anyone where I was going. I just packed a backpack and left. When I finally called my parents to tell them where I was (after arriving to CA and sitting inside my girlfriend’s bedroom.) My mom said “YoU’re GoInG tO pIcK hEr OvEr YoU’rE fAmIlY… oVeR gOd!!!!!” All I could say is “yup” and I hung up and blocked their number. Been with her for 12 years married for 3. I came out of the closet about a year ago and I'm 25. My parents are supportive, but I was trying to find out if I really was Pansexual or just 'going through a phase'. Well, that 'phase' stayed with me since early middle school. If you are still in the closet, don't let yourself down. Take your time to find the real you that makes you happy and comfortable. If you're out, let your colors fly. Love is love and you have a united community that supports you. Never be ashamed of who you are. If you're an ally, there is no amount of thank you's that we can say to you. The support is very much appreciated.

As a black Christian conservative who is also queer I get hate from every angle but I truly think convention therapy should be deemed a form of hate crime. Now there’s a lot of things that the mainstream lgbtq say that I’m against but like the beginning of the vid states love is love, and we should all be able to agree to disagree because that’s one of the glories of being an American.

Moth changed my perspective on LGBTQ+ people I've almost been molested by a gay person in my mother's workplace, get catcalled by gay people (specifically) when going home from school (I walk home because it's a 10-minute walk) and since then I hated gay people. Keep in mind, I was 12 at the time and until I saw this video it really gave me the "kickstart" thought about people just loving each other, and the other points that moth said. I've been a fan of this channel for 2 years now and I'd say this is the video where I actually salute moth for helping me become a better person. Thanks man
