Heh.. I know, right. Science is fun though. :) I actually do agree with you. You'd need a much higher voltage than you'd get from a standard lithium battery to produce the amps that would cause harm. Too many people assume it's all about the wattage though; so I figured I'd chime in. Do you think being in a hot tub would actually prevent creating a grounding connection? Or would that only be the case if they were floating?
