I had no idea about the Danakil Depression! I knew about Ethiopia, but this specific place was new to me. It's amazing to learn about new places and cultures. So odd to see this, just been there 3 weeks ago and I can totally understand how you feel. Danakil was surreal, quite tiring with the heat and the long drives, but Dallol and Erta Ale made up for it. Ethiopia is so rich, and has so much potential, I really hope they get their politics sorted out...

Yup thats true... U can find sea shells and broken corals deep in the Afar region of ethiopia while the sea went away hundreds of kms all the way to Eritrean danakil or Djibouti.

i am so happy. i am from mekelle near to the hottest place. But the hottest place is found in afar. in this place it have high temperature around 40 degree centigrade , a lot of salt formation , volcanic place and the human bing organ know as Luci also found in afar.but also in near mekelle have a wonderful place called axum.in this place have the ancient civilization of world place, have used the peoples its own language and alphabet form 3000 years ago until now is called geez. Have also ancient church,3 tallest obelisks but the tallest on is around 33m formed from one rock with out join connection befor 3000 years ago , another amusing place called gerealta. Visit another ancient place in Ethiopia also if you have time.enjoy and have a nice trip. 🌎 Ancient

Dallol, Ethiopia is so hot that the record low temperature there is 70°F, which is probably the warmest record low temperature in the world. So warm that it’s warmer than all of the 13 hardiness zones.

Its also a volcano danakil is a depresion do to a caldera basically a giat sink hole or a volcano erupts after that the underline magma revisvor that is empty so the rock above or the ground will collapse yhis one is a basaltic caldera or a caldera that slowly collapses

great video , I have been twice to the Bolivian Salt flats , a lot colder naturally than your trip , but swimming in that concentrated salt water pool must have really dried out your skin without enough fresh water to wash it ALL off , 10 times worse than swimming in the sea
