Wow, thanks for the history lesson and background info on the watch. $250k is absolutely crazy back in the day and it really reminds me of how many newer collectors in it for the wrong reasons don’t know about how brands come and go (Panerai, iwc, etc.) Really makes me wonder if RM and other newer hype brands are here to stay. On another note, I’ve recently noticed that with the market correction, obscure, “if you know, you know,” watches have taken off such as the early Chopard LUCs. Just a shame I couldn’t find one in the past year before this newer waves fully hits :/. Thanks for the vid!

Fascinating story, almost makes the nautilus hype look reasonable in comparison. I just don't get the brand in general, it feels like such a hit and miss as to whether the watch is actually decent or has less attention to detail than their fakes. There's not much consistency model to model or year to year

panerai is quite controversial company to speak that high about any of their watches. they were proven fraud few times: showing fake watches at their instagram profile, found with seiko movement in them blah, blah. it is a nice watch but the reflections on the crystal let me down. sorry....

Yes, they are repeating fraudsters. Claiming in house movements on several occasions whereas these were cheap ETA.

That seconds dial is totally out of proportion and too small, the 233 is a far better model from that Era, this 203 goes for 30k now
