They all look like they had so much fun together. I wish I had friends like that now.

I’m so grateful for youtube. 30 years later and I can see one of my favourite and most influential bands growing up.

I want the 'hello, we're The Housemartins' harmony thing they do as my ringtone. That's the greatest thing ever

This is great,Norman doing his mixing way back then ,very talented group, Of course Paul's song writing is very very underrated.

This is wonderful! Football, friends and music - what more did we need?! Loved The Housemartins and Paul Heaton... Oh and eye level grills made the best toast too!

Wow, loved this, thanks! Been a fan for almost 30 years but never knew this even existed. Love the knees up version of think For A Minute at the end of part 2!

Same here. Totally agree. If this was on telly at the time. I was born in 73 so wasn’t aloud to stay up late enough to watch the Whiskey Test.

I think I had the best time of my life in Hull of all places. The Adelphi , Spiders etc, Dawn, Ruth and the rest of the crew, I'll never forget you.

It's grim up north. They don't even have Technics SL1200s.

At 8 miutes & 51 seconds, Hugh Witaker is (to me at least) the spitting image of Shaun Ryder! Fantastic upload jimmod123, thankyou so much.

1986 strangely looks about 100 years ago now. So basic. A time that was great but feels long gone sadly now.

What a joy to revisit this. Recorded it on VHS at the time and distinctly remember there was some discussion about farting which prompted Stan to comment ”We’re a windy band”. Seems that part is missing here and on pt 2. I think my favorite scene is Hugh’s toast institution extravaganza. Remember being very disappointed when that lovely chap left.

I'm so happy to have found this. Did it air originally on BBC? As an American fan of this band way back then, I knew almost nothing about them (didn't even know to pronounce zero "nil", haha, but I knew they were great. Something really gelled on this album, more so than the follow-up. Maybe it was Hugh's drumming, which I love.

Cool man. Nice to hear there music touched souls over there. My dads a kit drummer and he always said this guy can play. But yeah Hull 4 London nil. Is like a football ( soccer ) result. It’s cool because in the UK, traditionally and even now. You have to go to London to make it as a band. It’s the only real city on the Island. 🇬🇧🇺🇸

It's the only city on the island 🤔. Wash your mouth out sunshine. The greatest bands in the country have come from everywhere apart from London

London 0 Hull 4 is actually inspired by Rugby League not football. Hull being Hull FC which is one of two professional rugby league clubs in the City.
