As an engineer I always hated how pickles got blamed for this. For a drum stick to defeat the plastic housing to the point of this kind of catastrophic defect is a serious failure of design. It's like they literally made the thing out of popsicles and toothpaste

Here's a reply that comes too late. Later in the episode, Pickles exploits the same flaw in order to defeat the drumbot, but he wouldn't have known about it if he didn't do it by "accident". Multiple rewatches afford you the opportunity to see just how many final-destination-y things the gods of metal influence in order to keep the band on their destined path. The metal gods played with the chance that an improbable but not impossible amount of force could break that plastic housing, so they ensured its happening and triggering the failure. Not only did it give Pickles the idea on how to defeat the drumbot and save the band, it set him on a path to wrestle and control his inner demons to use it's power at his own behest. Speaking of Ghostqueen, they got a carny drunk enough to not tighten a bolt as much as they should have in Dethfair. Picked the right lottery number at Employee Appreciation Day that would trip the agent and get The Man in the Silver Mask to play his role in the prophecy. Or Brendan Small could have just made it all up and there is no meaning to it at all.
