I enjoy your videos! There's also a really good congregation in TN, called Jacob's Tent you may enjoy watching and a wonderful Torah-teaching ministry called 119 Ministries. Both are solid in the Word! The Sabbath is my favorite day of the week. I wish more believers in the Word would realize just how precious that gift of Shabbat is that ADONAI gave to us!.

Thankyou, Constance! Well said. Yes, as with anything, keeping Shabbat takes practice...and self-control. Taking the guilt captive unto Jesus, until it doesn't raise its ugly head any more! Organising the house and work, so that Shabbat is the welcome end to the week. The discipline needed to be ready to rest! May l share something special? One Shabbat a while back, l was grumbling away to God that l was trying so hard to be done with the housework by Shabbat, but when l had paid work, or a meeting on a Friday bang went Preparation Day, and at this rate, l was going to have to use Thursday as preparation for Preparation Day...which moved Thursday stuff to Wednesday! "This is ridiculous!" l cried. And then the still, small voice said, "And...?" I continued... "Which means that the whole week ends up being preparation for preparation, for preparation for the Sabbath!" And in the silence, l realised....it was. And He said, "Just like your whole life is preparation for your rest in Heaven with Me ...your whole week is preparation for spending one day, resting with Me. And one day... it will be permanent." Oh, my. God is so Good. Love, and Shabbat Shalom. ❤🫂✝️

Great Video!!! We also started celebrating Shabbot about4 yrs ago. We do do the candles and the bread and the grape juice, which is a tradition AND we also watch Paul Wilbur on KZbin for Shabbot in Your Home on Shabbot evening. On Shabbot we have started studying prophecy and learning what is ahead for us as believers. I do cook on Thurs and Fri and heat up on Shabbot. It has been a learning curve. We also study with on KZbin Corner Fringe with Pastor Daniel Joseph. He has got quite the testimony but they are a Messianic Church up in Minnesota. But it is a learning curve and I think that the Lord watches us and says "well done" with what we have set aside for Him.

I’ve been keeping Shabbat for around 5 yrs. I began from a deep conviction even without my husband joining me, although he respected it. Out of nowhere he began keeping Shabbat about 1yr ago and what a joy that was to me….it happened because Father Yahuah nudged his heart. We completely rest and it is the most refreshing time of our week usually spent with more than normal time reading the Word. Friday is my preparation day and I try to make sure there is food for leftovers, I try to clean the house…but it’s not required 😂 and I do as many of my animal chores as possibly. In this wicked heat in Texas, I have been giving them fresh cool water but not cleaning any water bottles. We both let the dishes pile in the sink on Saturday and we’re ok with it until Sunday morning. It’s all ok. We joyfully wish each other Shabbat Shalom on Friday sunset and again at sunset Saturday. It’s a good time. I better get moving….I still need to clean the house. BTW great video!

Yes! I get the crazy looks & questions because of me not eating the pork/seafood. I tell people who REALLY have a problem with the "issue" - the pig & shellfish is just as disgusting as eating a rat, bat, & snake - they then get a puzzled look. I then tell them, "Read your Bible!" That usually shuts them up. Oh, I had one friend that told me that after Jesus, our digestive systems must have changed...LOLOLOLOL...I just shook my head with that one & said for her to show me that in Scripture. People really have a problem with the bacon issue & couldn't EVER conceive of giving it up.

Hello! I just came across your channel today and wanted to share that I celebrate Shabbat and the Festivals as well. I'm not Rabbinical either! My Rabbi is Jack Zimmerman from Jewish Voice Ministries, and he tells us, we are biblically hebraic. Not sure if you are familiar with Jewish Voice Ministries, if not, they are great to listen to as well..I just looked up Rabbi Greg Hershberg from Georgia..come to find out, my Rabbi listens to him as well and said he is great. Maybe one day our two Rabbis can get together. I saw your Tree of Life Bible and that's what I use as well along with the Complete Jewish Bible. So it is wonderful to "happen" upon a fellow sister in Yeshua that are following the same teachings. Seeing your channel was no coincidence..that was a God thing because He knew I needed to hear from you... Many blessings to you and your family. Shalom, Karen

Wonderful video! Thank you for sharing how easy it is to love and obey our Father in heaven and our Messiah. A precedent for not cooking or baking on Shabbat is found in the Scripture below. H7676 appears to be each 7th day Sabbath and Day of Atonement. These two days forbid cooking and baking and are High Sabbath Days. Other Sabbaths denote another number and allow cooking/preparing what you will eat....yet, also command a rest and assembly/convocation. Feel free to share if you have other information or understanding. Blessings! Exodus 16:22 And so it was, on the sixth day, that they gathered twice as much bread, two omers for each one. And all the rulers of the congregation came and told Moses. 23 Then he said to them, “This is what the Lord has said: ‘Tomorrow is a Sabbath rest, a holy Sabbath to the Lord. Bake what you will bake today, and boil what you will boil; and lay up for yourselves all that remains, to be kept until morning.’ ” 24 So they laid it up till morning, as Moses commanded; and it did not stink, nor were there any worms in it. 25 Then Moses said, “Eat that today, for today is a Sabbath to the Lord; today you will not find it in the field. 26 Six days you shall gather it, but on the seventh day, the Sabbath, there will be none.”

Ok my question is I was raised that Sunday is the lords day, how or where is it said that which day is it. I’m trying to find & learn. I take so much from you please know you are a blessing to me thank you.
@CosmopolitanCornbread Жыл бұрын
The "Lord's Day" being Sunday is a teaching that came about long after the bible was written (old and new testaments.) There are no scriptures that say it is Sunday. Now, I don't see anything wrong with worshiping on Sunday, Monday, or any day of the week. But Scripture only refers to Shabbat as the 7th day of the week. Here are just a handful of the many references. Exodus 20:8-11 “Remember the day, *Shabbat* to set it apart for God. You have *six days* to labor and do all your work, *but the seventh day is a Shabbat* for Adonai your God. On it, you are not to do any kind of work - not you, your son or your daughter, not your male or female slave, not your livestock, and not the foreigner staying with you inside the gates to your property. For in six days, Adonai made heaven and earth, the sea and everything in them; but on the seventh day he rested. This is why Adonai blessed the day, Shabbat, and separated it for himself." Exodus 34:21 “Six days you will work, but on the *seventh day* you are to rest - even in plowing time and harvest season you are to rest." Exodus 31:14-16 "Therefore you are to keep my Shabbat, because it is set apart for you. Everyone who treats it as ordinary must be put to death; for whoever does any work on it is to be cut off from his people. On six days work will get done; but the *seventh day is Shabbat,* for complete rest, set apart for Adonai. Whoever does any work on the day of Shabbat must be put to death. The people of Isra’el are to keep the Shabbat, to observe Shabbat through all their generations as a *perpetual covenant."* Leviticus 23:3 “‘Work is to be done on six days; but the *seventh day is a Shabbat* of complete rest, a holy convocation; you are not to do any kind of work; it is a Shabbat for Adonai, even in your homes." Deuteronomy 5:12-15 “‘Observe the day of Shabbat, to set it apart as holy, as Adonai your God ordered you to do. You have six days to labor and do all your work, but the *seventh day is a Shabbat* for Adonai your God. On it you are not to do any kind of work - not you, your son or your daughter, not your male or female slave, not your ox, your donkey or any of your other livestock, and not the foreigner staying with you inside the gates to your property - so that your male and female servants can rest just as you do. You are to remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and Adonai your God brought you out from there with a strong hand and an outstretched arm. Therefore Adonai your God has ordered you to keep the day of Shabbat."

So the first day of the week is Sunday? And the last or seventh day is Saturday?
@CosmopolitanCornbread Жыл бұрын
Yes. Saturday is the seventh day. We even see it in languages like Spanish: el sábado (sabbath) I do NOT have a problem with people worshipping on Sunday. EVERY day belongs to the Father. But there is only one day that *He* calls the Sabbath. :)

My grandmother was Bretheren, on Sunday she went to chapel 3 times. Most people have a roast lunch on Sunday but Grandma always cooked on a Saturday, so it was cold meat, salad pickles and potatoes (that were prepared Saturday) on Sunday. She would not sew or buy anything on a Sunday. How do you feel about keeping shabbat on a different day i.e. Sunday not Saturday?
@CosmopolitanCornbread Жыл бұрын
My opinion doesn’t matter… in my opinion :) what does scripture say?
@ruthkedward2461 Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your reply.Listening to what you read shabbat is always referred to as the seventh day. I have always been taught Sunday is the first day of the week, yet Christians keep Sunday as their special day, does the Bible stipulate which day is the Sabbath or could it be any day, I'm thinking of people who's employment usually covers the weekend? I am learning that a lot of the "traditions" followed by modern Christian churches are not founded on the bible.
@CosmopolitanCornbread Жыл бұрын
My thought is this: The Father gave us the scriptures to know what to do. Traditions are not scripture. I do my best to line my actions and beliefs up with his word. If the whole world is jumping off a cliff, I don't plan on getting in line. I would rather be one of the three Hebrew boys who didn't bow before the golden statue, even if I am standing alone.

This is how I see it….God gave the Sabbath Day to keep as a sign between Himself and Israel not Gentiles. For Christians, there is a Sabbath rest in Christ Jesus, who said, “The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath” (Mark 2:27). He went on to say, “the Son of man is Lord also of the Sabbath.” Sunday is a day of physical and spiritual rest, and a day on which we have the opportunity to worship the Lord. Christ is our Sabbath rest because He sanctifies and makes us holy. For all who have entered into Christ, every day is a day of worship. For Christians or Gentiles as long as we observe a day of rest and worship of our Lord is all God requires of us….it is different for the Jews. Just my take on it.
@lonsangel Жыл бұрын
In Galatians 3:28 it goes on to tell us how there are neither Jews or Gentiles, slave nor free, male or female. ( meaning if you are in Christ you are one of God’s chosen people and stand to inherit all that He has promised). Yeshua the Messiah kept the Sabbath all his life. I went to Sunday church my whole life until 3 years ago. After my husband pointed this out & the more I read for myself I realized how much the churches I had gone to weren’t reading or preaching from the whole Bible. That bothered me because the whole Bible is important and Yeshua ( Jesus) lived according to the Old Testament for the new had not been written. Then I realized how we are called to be set apart from the world and when I started keeping Shabbat I saw that it was the very day the world was at it’s busiest shopping, playing & partying and although it was a big adjustment for me to change the only way of life I had known it felt good to be set apart and to keep the Shabbat and rest. It felt good to be keeping the Sabbath like Jesus did.

Our furry and feathered friends are to benefit from the Shabbat too. Speaking of chicken coop cleaning, should our animal's Shabbat be filthy, and uncomfortable? Years ago when we had our young chickens in coops before they were big enough to join the adults our coops were above ground on legs so the wood floor of the coop was waist high for easy cleaning. We would scrape out all the chicken poop with a hoe and this had to be done morning and evening otherwise the chickens would be wallowing in poop. That would not be kind to allow the animals to suffer on their Shabbat. We wouldn't allow our human babies to stay in the same dirty diaper for 24 hours on Shabbat as Yeshua would not allow an animal to suffer on Shabbat having to stay in a pit till the Shabbat was over. Neither should we allow our animals to be suffering on Shabbat because it's their Shabbat to enjoy too. So, yes, the daily care of animals is not only permitted on Shabbat, but it's a mitzvah to do so! So we still do the daily cleaning of the horse stall, milk cow stall, cat litter box, the puppy pads. My little indoor dogs do not go outside. They are paper trained and I could not imagine their suffering (and my own) with 24 hours of urine and feces piling up from four dogs on the puppy pads. Shabbat would become unbearable for the animals suffering and my own. We must guard against the leaven of the Pharisees. I have what people call an "Ultra Orthodox" background so I am very familiar with Rabbinical Laws/Rules/Customs/Traditions. I once lived in a world where you could not brush your teeth on Shabbat, no washing your face, bathing, or showering. NO smearing moisturizer on your face, but you can smear cream cheese on a bagel, go figure. All the light switches in the house would have a piece of masking tape over them on Shabbat to help "guard the Shabbat" so nobody would accidently flip a switch on or off. The same with the burners on the stove, the oven, the crockpot--all covered in tin foil to prevent them from even being touched (laws of Muktzeh). Oh, don't forget unscrewing the light bulb in the refrigerator! You cannot imagine all the insanity of the things one cannot do if they are following Rabbinical Judaism instead of Biblical Judaism. Besides Shabbat observances during the rest if the week there are a million crazy things that are like law. A man can't even get out of bed in the morning with his bare feet, but must place his socks on his feet under the covers first and then his feet may emerge, and each foot must enter each shoe in a prescribed order and then ones shoe laces tied in a specific order. Yeshua rebuked them for all their crazy customs back then that He taught us was adding to Torah and creating an impossible to bear burden. The Rabbinic fences placed around the Torah are a million times worse today than 2000 years ago. YHVH commanded us in Deuteronomy 8:10 "When you have eaten and are full, then you shall bless the LORD your God for the good land which He has given you." Traditions of men have us saying something called "Grace" before a meal, not after as YHVH commanded. Then there are all the rabbinical created blessings you must say over just a drink of water, every type of food, wine, bread. People can get all caught up in traditions that actually cause a transgression of Torah. I could go on, but I think I've made an impression. Please forgive any typos/grammar. Proof reading is not on my list of things to get done before Shabbat. LOL

Isn’t this the LAW of the OT? And Jesus came to free us from the law. Aren’t we saying that what He did wasn’t enough when we keep the law on any issue? Paul said that if we keep one part of the law, we must keep every part because keeping part of it says that what Jesus did wasn’t enough ….not trying to discount your worship but I am not understanding. Do Messianic Jews still celebrate Shabbat?
@CosmopolitanCornbread Жыл бұрын
I have had a few people ask this now, and it is really more than what I could properly address in a comment. I think I need to do a video about it. But your last question - yes. Messianic Jews do celebrate Shabbat.
