A guy I know who lived in Detroit said howard took some of Dahl's bits when Howard was early on in Detroit listened to dahl. Callers in the area started saying to dahl their Is a DJ taking ur bits. I wasn't around or a baby at that time so thats what a few people said . It might be true howard was like 24 at the time & dahl did a disco demolition with a ton of people at some ball park. He came before howard. Im sure howard did his own thing but its possible he was influenced by dahl. Also for sure I know casey casem had that top 40 countdown from coast to coast. He probably pre taped it from california & I was in ny. I also think soupy sales was syndicated. So ur right others were syndicated b4. I remember when Howard left LA market for satellite within 4 months Mancow came here and was promoted to be the next big thing. I remember somewhat enjoying it but feeling it was Howardish but ok. THEN he played the “my turban is dirty” that Sal/Richard made as his own. I knew there he was a hack. Got satellite and enjoyed the prime Artie mess there. At 2021 it died and I quit Stern too. Few years later found the old O&A beef videos with Mancow and he was doing fake car crash bits. He is outright crap.

You know in all fairness Mancow started this feud and feuded with others like Johnny B, Kevin Matthews, Steve Dahl, Gary Meier when they never gave a thought about him. I get it...Mancow was trying to get ratings. I listened to him on both Rock 103.5 and Q101.1. Howard was right Cow stole a lot of material from him and the others I mentioned and called his show original which was b.s. The one thing I will give Mancow was that he had some nice live shows. I was a live event he did at Buddy Guys back in 1997 and I saw Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Johnny Lang right up close and I met Buddy Guy that day and he autographed a dollar bill for me...I still have it framed in my house. But Cow based his show on lies also..he said he had the last ever interview with Brandon Lee which was a lie...he did interview Brandon Lee when he was filming Rapid Fire here in Chicago but it wasn't the last one he did! He said he mic'd up and isolated Linda McCartney's voice during Paul's performance of Hey Jude while Linda was clowning around during the refrain but that audio existed for years...Steve Dahl played it on his show years before Mancow was around...that was a lie. He said that was in the church when U2 recorded the version of I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For and recorded it..which was a lie...everybody plays that!! I used to listen to Mancow's show but it was recycled crap from previous shows. I guess the one big thing that turned me off was when he and I were in a well known restaurant near Greektown and I was like, "wow, there's Mancow". I believe Turd was with him and Irma. I went up to him..totally turned his back toward me. I was like Ok...Mr. "I'm just an average guy like the next guy". I stopped listening to his "schtick", the black helicopters following him, the FBI bugging his apartment just got old. By the way, the guy on the show that was really cool whom I met a couple times and was always gracious and cool and had THE most talent on that show was Freak!! Freak was awesome!!

If I recall correctly, Howard was on 103.5 then Mancow's show came on at 8. I don't remember Jonathan Brandmore, Gary Meier or Steve Dahl feuding with him. I thought they'd shifted down the dial by the time Manure... er, Mancow emerged.
