what do you mean when you said HP and Dell require custom parts? You showed respective band hard drives. I can't install my own hard drives/SSDs?

Gush the GPU power limitation on Z 840 seems drastic : 180 W per GPU max ??? That is with the 3 cards on ? Or 180 W per GPU slot ? A simple RTX 2060 super eats 250 W on max : that could be problematic.
@virtualinfinity62804 жыл бұрын
The figures are not entirely correct. The Z840 comes with two sizes of powersupplies. The bigger, 1100W part offers three 6-Pin power outputs for graphics. However, each of these can sustain 18A over the 12V lines, so 12*18=216W. So, if your graphics card uses more that 216W, you'll need two powercables to power the GPU. With an RTX 2080 just north of 215W, you cannot have three of them in one system - the max would be two using a splitter on one of the three power-cables (wich is fine to do).

Does anyone know someone who is an expert at configuring the zworksations for pro audio production? use with Cubase, Protools etc?

I used to do a lot of Cubase and Ableton stuff and I once agreed to mix a few tracks for a band I knew. I borrowed a pretty high end XW8400 and put in my delta 1010lt to be a low latency sound card. The results were really disappointing. It underperformed compared to my own PC. Perhaps the 2 Xeon processors at a lower Max Ghz didn't scale well with the 4 cores each of the 2 processors in the version of Cubase I used. It was Cubase SX 2 I think. It was long ago. Anyway I expected to be able to have 16 channels with 3 FX each with no problem but I struggled with 4 or 5 tracks. with FX. I don't think Cubase was very multithreaded at that time. It's probably different now. Seems to me parallel channels of Audio lend them themselves brilliantly to parallel execution. Probably just the time this happened in. Luv and Peace. On a different note there's a ton of windows services that can be disabled on a dedicated music workstation that massively increase performance. Taking interrupts out of the system makes the Audio so much smoother. I was able to get 4ms latency on a live guitar track with live amplitube without stutter on a track with 4 other playing tracks effected on a pretty modest PC back in 2010. Luv and Peace.

@@ianedmonds9191 OK, your reply is what i was looking for. Can you tell me what windows services to be disabled? i am struggling to play 6 tracks with around 4-5 fx on each track on an AMD bulldozer (I know, i know) machine....i am thinking of jumping to a Mac........so a dual CPU work station is not going to cut it is what you're saying., unless your software supports multicore nd multi thread?

Does the single CPU of a G5 outperform the dual CPU of a G4 in terms of performance?

Good question but most likely not. They cut corners in the newer mobo

That is a tricky question . You might have to become an expert to reliably understand the issues . I am not an expert but I believe It can be done but with certain caveats .

Can require a special outlet. Btw, nobody can see in 8K. Our eyes are not "configured" to see it. It's a waste of space in a computer. they need to find something in between HD and 8K

At least it doesn't look like an HP Omen pc! Lord, that is evil looking. Dell Alienware is so unreliable, I'm passing it on to a young adult with the mind of a teenager. They grew up with PC's that crash all the time. It's normal to them. Cyberpunk 2077 got them acclimated to buggy programs.
