Enjoy the official translated lyrics! Once upon a time There was a bottomless blue lake At the end of the world with An uninhabited beautiful land When the spring time came The migrant birds returned to the lake flying and singing From far far away place The old father lake was waving joyfully When he saw his offspring, all grown up He rejoiced all day long He sang all night long The time flied swiftly Here came the middle of summer What beautiful happiness How joyful his waves There was a female swan hadn't found her lover She searched for him endlessly and found him lastly They were delighted in their late found love They loved each other as nothing else matters A happy news of expecting came Promised each other to be together forever Married in their father lake, love and happiness followed Seven offspring were born to them How beautiful was life How tasty was happiness The sun goes down, here came the chill The moon goes dark and hides behind the clouds Fierce cold came and the water body chilled Frozen the streams and the whole earth It was time to travel back to warm land, but her cygnets were too young They tried so hard to fly with half grown feathers She took her young ones under her wings to save them from coldness Sacrificed her life and left this world As the fire of her eyes quenced her tears stayed pouring As the last breath left her body her heartache was still there Died in her tears for half-grown feathers The Mother Swan Departed in lullabying between sleeping and awake The Mother Swan

The lyrics are hella sad. It's basically about how a swan comes to this lake alone, finds a mate and had cygnets but when it comes for them to leave the cygnets can't fly, the days are cold and the mother swan shields her young from it, wrapping them up in her wings. Unfortunately she does die protecting them. It's very bittersweet.

Just the sweetness of the music put a tear in my eye. Now I'm going to have to listen to this song where no-one can see me :D

I finally got around to buying the album after months of listening on You Tube. I am not a fan of metal music and never have been. To me, metal is bands such Marilyn Manson, Deep Purple etc. I can't describe the Hu as metal but as excellent rock music with the Mongolian influence. I don't understand a word they're singing and therefore the throat singing is even more of another instrument than the vocals usually are. There isn't a bad track on the album for me and this song, Legend of Mother Swan, is a standout gem on a bed of jewels. I'm already looking forward to the next album although I have no idea where the music will go and what they'll do next. Exciting though and I haven't been this excited over a band or artist many times in my life, and I've been into music since I was about 12, which is 48 years ago.

Totally agree with you, these guys are the best band since the Beatles in my opinion, although totally different style you can not really compare but definitely not metal. Theirs, got to be one in a thousands albums without one bad song. This is so rare these days.

@@milkyoolong42 i could not tell unless I went to see them at another place. I do know some venues do not have that great a sound for vocals. It is like there is some mid-range loss.

I’ve always wondered how they go about EQing the vocals either for live or studio especially when it comes to mastering. Obviously you would normally want to eq out a lot of the low end but with the throat singing I suspect is in quite a low end of the range; much low then normal low for normal voice range and possibly in the range of low end rumble? I mean I could be wrong but their range doesn’t sound like it’s in the vocal fry range

They need guitar distortion
@GG.Herald3 жыл бұрын
No I don't think they need it, because other mongolian band already did that, the name is Tengger Cavalry, they combined mongolian music with guitar distortion, scream, vocal fry, growls and throat singing. In case if you don't know about them
