Well done. Lovely looking wing. Thanks for sharing all that you do. Super informative.

if you use peelply you don't need to worry about contamination at all, it's more you ammine blush layer that cause a headache on the final coat. Also, you have the option revert back solar polyester and wax (AKA hot coat) for the final coat, hence shave 2 days off your waiting time.

Hey there! I was wondering if you have any videos of this wing in action, would love to see some sample footage as it's hard to decide which one to buy as a beginner! Would really appreciate it if you can share a video of how well it works. Private link is fine too! Thanks again!

Thanks for your video! For winging i tried a 2400 Starboard foil. For my weight 85kg and skill level it was way too big and really slow. I could also feel the mast flexing. Now I use maximum 1600cm2.

At 8:54 you mention keeping skin oil off your composite lamination surfaces...which is definitely important...but if your epoxy is beading up on a recently cured surface it is most likely due to amine blush, a by product of the curing process that rises to the epoxy surface and results in a small spot or even the entire surface where you will NOT get a proper bond and the epoxy will bead up like you describe. You have to wash with lots of warm and slightly soapy water to get rid of the amine blush.

how many layers of glass do you use to make the top of the fuse pocket? is that all 4 ounce glass before the outer carbon layer?

We ordered the 2300 Kit (Aluminum) from you last week and want to use it in a DIY efoil. Does the aluminium mast have room to run 3 wires through it?

Very nice! I wonder if my 95cm carbon mast would resist surch a load, any idea?

Nice job fabricating. Time to get wet. When surfing to avoid possibly cutting your feet when you jump/fall off the board. I'd recommend a "wide" board, so it keeps the surfers feet "away" from the wing.

Hi! Did you already test the 3000 wing for pumping? I weight about 100 kg and I´m really interested in such a big wing for easier dock starting!
@clearwaterhydrofoils43133 жыл бұрын
Yes, the 3000 wing is great for pumping. I am not sure what content has been uploaded. However the 3000 is now available on the store, in a ready to go version and in a carbon kit version.

With the carbon over glass you kind of make the glass useless. Carbon has about 3.5 times higher stiffness, so the carbon carries almost all the load until it breaks and the developed crack weakens the glass.

"I simply skinned the glassed wing. One carbon layer per side simply for the looks!" - quote from clearwater ... cheerss
@fabianrudzewski90274 жыл бұрын
@@adrianuskristianto5 and the effect of that is, that the glass just sits and adds weight. It's like reinforcing a rubber band with a steel wire. The rubber (glass fiber) won't do anything until the steel wire (carbon) is broken.
@clearwaterhydrofoils43134 жыл бұрын
@@fabianrudzewski9027 I would have to disagree with this. For the loads and forces the wing is facing, the outer carbon skin does not matter much. If this was a high end part in extreme conditions, then yes mixing carbon and glass would not be ideal. Having personally done many parts like this... I have never had a problem. Using the same logic you could argue the carbon skin is reinforcing something that is already very stiff. I would rather reinforce a solid wood core with carbon than a foam core with carbon... the wood core will be stronger.
@nickolaydobrev7144 жыл бұрын
@@clearwaterhydrofoils4313 I'd disagree with you considering that you laid the carbon cloth with weft or warp (doesn't mater) tip to tip direction. If you had rotated it 45° then the glass would be bearing the flex load. Correct me if I'm wrong. Cheers
@nickolaydobrev7144 жыл бұрын
@@fabianrudzewski9027 the glass isn't just adding weight. With a ESP core and without the glass that wing will be extremely succeptible to dents

At some point the largest wing will have too much drag to be efficient for your weight. Do you think 3000 is close or over that limit?
@spacesticklab4 жыл бұрын
That was my question too...
@WakeThief4 жыл бұрын
It's a beautiful wing. I'm curious as well. At 2400 sqcm (Infinity 99 from Slingshot) I really started to feel the drag. That wing is ~4 aspect ratio. When I switched to lower area high aspect wing (AXIS 1150), I found the drag drop, glide go up and the low speed stall speed went lower. The details are here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bmaof3Zsm7SjeaM
