It's really not that bad IMO, I think the original Last House on the Left is much harder to watch, or A Serbian Film all of which I enjoy but I guess it's a matter of taste/intestinal fortitude in some ways. Though I throw up looking at congealed food that's been sitting out so we all have our thing.

@Sammy R. In art there is no such thing as wrong, in art there is also no room for anyone to declare what is or isn't valid as art. It's all about perspective. Some people like exploitation movies, some don't, but don't presume to tell anyone what is or isn't good. For me when I watch a movie morality or whether it's 'right or wrong' never factors in for me, only whether I am entertained and all of these movies entertain me. Personally whether acting is good or bad doesn't make a movie more or less entertaining to watch to me. Some of the acting Last House on the Left is hokey as fuck, but I still love it. Sorry you didn't enjoy them but that doesn't make it any different for us who do.

My friend forced me to watch this when I was like... 14, MAYBE at the most... then she fell asleep half way through and I just. I hate scary movies to start with. I just KEPT thinking about this unpleasantness in PTSD style flashbacks. I'm 23 now, so there is enough distance so I can laugh about it. But NOPE to 2 and 3. I agree with them, you don't need to see this. You know what it is, you aren't missing anything.

BlackburnBigdragon Yeah pretty much. The concept obviously brings people to the movie, but I doubt they would remember it after all this time if the creator hadn’t have cast him as the doctor. It’s not a standard horror villain performance, though the energy and range he brings to the character catches your eye the whole movie. Makes the doctor way more of a basket case, therefore unpredictable and even creepier. Hands down the ace of this film.

Trivia: Tom Six wasn't exactly truthful about what kind of film he was making to get funding. Many companies were mad when they found out what the hell their money was going towards. He also consulted a surgeon to get a ""medically"" accurate plan for the centipede, who was like "ew gross wtf get out" but then thought on it and contacted Six back and basically made the diagram. More trivia: there's a musical version on KZbin! It's fucking hilarious.

I would say it's satire in the sense that the premise of the movie makes fun of the concepts of horror movies in general. The problem is that satire is a whole lot funnier to talk about rather than the actual execution--I'd argue that's why this movie is even known about at all, because people have fun talking about it. Knowing this, I'll never see it.
