GTA is where I first heard this song too. At first I thought it was a kind of novelty/ not to be taken serious song made for the game. Then I realized it's a legit song and it grew on me. I notice that the singing is kind of flat but its part of what gives it it's charm.

There was definitely a sort of broader desire to be exceptional in whatever endeavor one was a part of in the 80s. Apart from the AIDS crisis that was largely ignored until around 1985-86, there was a sense of optimism that I haven’t seen in quite some time (I was born in 1977). It just seems like back then, people were comfortable being really good at something and then taking that and having fun with it. Pretty sure that’s where we got an entire decade of bad ass guitar solos from… Then again, there was a HUGE shift toward the youth from advertisers and the music industry then as well. There’s also a good chance I am guilty of having a selective memory here…

About 13 when this came out. I loved the backbeats from these Brits. The Brits knew how to take American Rock and Roll and in many cases, take it a step above. My trip to Ireland and Great Britain enlightetened me. I love The English! From a 50 year old American Boy from California.

Sorry about the 80s Brits weren't into American Rock and Roll, they were into American R&B (just like the Brits from the 60s were into American Blues). Ever heard of Northern Soul. Human League are from Sheffield and are a product of Northern Soul. As for this song, it is an homage to Sly and The Family Stone. The "Hey, Hey, Hey, Hey" part and different male/female lead voices are straight from them...

I remember the first time I heard this song. It was the summer of 1983, and I was just a young,14 year old girl. I turned 15 that August. My Mom and Dad and I had brought some of my cousins with us on a trip to Disneyland. I remember that night in Disneyland, we had stopped to eat at one of the restaurants that had an outdoor dining area. Right across from where we were was this place where they had live music and dancing, and there was a rock band performing. I don't know the name of the band, but I know it wasn't Human League. It was a local band, I'm pretty sure. One of the songs they played was "Keep Feeling Fascination." I had never heard the song until then, and sometime later, I found out it was by Human League. I absolutely loved the song when I heard it for the first time that night, and it's still a favorite to this day. Everytime I hear it, it brings back memories of that night in Disneyland. The 80's was a fun time to be a teenager.

I was 19 when this came out and finally able to drink legally. I specifically remember going to bars that had screens all over the bar and they played "music videos" . It sounds funny now but back then of ourse music vids were a new thing and to going to a club that specifically played music vids on big screen TV's was absolutley cutting edge. Before that, all our music was on record or tapes and for many of us we'd never seen more than a handful of our idols pictures much less actually seen them move in real life so going to a club and seeing "moving music" was pretty damn cool. You take that and the fact that ( imho) from about 77-85 it was an absolutley golden era for music...ya the 80's was one hell of a special time a great time to be young.
