Imagine if you were a kid and that was the first fight you got to see. That performance for the BMF title was better than any championship I've ever seen. He had the fight won on every card and he chose to put it on the line to give us the most insane last 10 seconds in MMA history. Max should be the logo for the UFC.

It's nice to see a guy from Oahu be a champion at something most guys lookup to. I grew up in Kalihi in the 90s and early 2000s. Sad to see how many men on Oahu are no longer men. They indulge too much into pleasure, drugs, alcohol, being soft. They need more men like Max to change the trend. Make Men Great Again in Hawaii like during the King Kamehameha days

As someone who came into the sport during Conor mania and really had to take a look at my love for the sport and what I thought of it after that and Conor's downfall, Max Holloway truly is one of the greatest of all time. People will remember his time in the sport as something truly special. The little kid from Hawaii who didn't look like he had it in him to become champ after the first three losses in the UFC, but went on to have one of the longest undefeated streaks and one of the greatest runs in featherweight history. When Max is at the Pinnacle of his game he looks unstoppable and he might not even be done. He's still getting wins. He just knocked out justin gaethje for the BMF title and looked phenomenal. He has put out statistically some of the most dominant performances, if not the most dominant performances in UFC history. Even after losing to Alex 3 times, I really think he has a good shot of beating topuria and if he doesn't it doesn't really matter. Max has cemented his spot and etched his spot in UFC history and in combat sports history and really in sports history in general. One of the greatest to ever do it. Max Holloway is nothing more, Nothing less, than truly blessed. Not as blessed as we were to see his time in the sport. We will miss him when he's gone and retired. He was willing to fight anyone including the only UFC champ to retire undefeated. Hopefully some people realize how legendary his spot is in the sport and how much he will be remembered for time to come for years. Our grandkids will Google these fights saying "damn papaw he got hands". They won't get to experience these moments and Will probably never understand how special it felt. Just as we'll never understand what it felt like to watch ali live and in his prime. I Will always remember max Holloway🥊🏆.

Thanks for the walk back through memory lane. Yes, and the story isn’t even over in many ways it just begun. As a Waianae boy myself I relish in his success and what it takes to break through. Living there I had friends who Neva even went to town. It’s a culture all capsulated in a valley forged in toughest and the survival of the fitness. After my first fight with a broken nose at 5 yrs old you become street smart real quick. Interestingly was from Michael Perriera who was 10 and he beat then crap out of me right on Old Government road. But I wish there was videos of us fighting at that age. Cause that’s how early we go. And there is no such thing as a fair fight. Max is no ka oi.
