The book has SO many important details that got left out of the movie. It definitely was improved by me having read the book a couple days prior because I was able to fill in so many things that were left out that would’ve made things made way more sense

I'm glad I'm watching this review because I was not paying attention during the movie 😅 The singing and the that Horrendous Country Accent pulled me so far out the film. I couldn't stop giggling. I swear it was Hunger Games: Rise of Hannah Montana 😅 but I didn't get the best of both worlds 😂

I'm only a few minutes into the movie and I had to come here and see what people said about the singing because I'm on the first song and she's very good but it just seems so silly to me that they're letting her sing this song that clearly is meant to be in rebellion and I swear if people start dancing in sync with each other I'm done lol Yeah, as someone who was raised by people who say "warsh" instead of "wash," I can honestly say that the accent just didn't feel quite right, it almost felt like an Elizabeth Holmes situation where she was doing weird stuff with her voice and as a country bumpkin from the Midwest myself I could have done without the accent...

I say warsh instead of wash if I’m not concentrating and really hate when actors act like regional accents can’t be subtle. Rachel here acted like she was in a SNL skit…

DIOR in their makeup kit deep chocolate melonin??? My EGOT (like many a'badass Black entertainers and models) had to bring their stuff from home, SMH. The THING is: the production had "the coin" to hook THEEEE VIOLA they could get her MAKEUP proper.. ,LOL, come on. Everyone in the Capitol is supposed to look odd. Effie in the first film was as white as a sheet with the makeup they put to show how detached she was from the district citizens so I assume they did this to Viola’s character as well

Yes. But Effie is theatrical in her makeup look. She doesn't lokk like she has poorly applied makeup, just an off kilter style. Violas makeup looks like they trued to do a poor man's chemical burn effect with elmers glue and then applied powder that was 5 shades to light in top of that. I find the director very hit and miss. I loved Constantine, even though it’s almost completely different from the source material, and I enjoyed the first 2/3 of I am legend. I don’t care for the hunger games universe so I’ll pass on this.

Yes, I am just getting this is a cash grab and milking a franchise that was kind of over. Four films and the last couple were not exactly great. Zeigler seems to be kind of blowing her big break after West Side Story. And I agree with the review. Why are they not making a prequel about the first hunger games? Seems like a no brainer but this is a head scratching choice.

Because they are quick. These hunger games were quick only got a little longer because of the rebel bombing and it causing the tunnels to open. Other than that it would just be 24 ppl in a round auditorium killing each other with nowhere to hide.

I think you have been a littel too hard on Lucy Grey. I get it the singing can be annoying but she is not suppose to be like Katniass, capable of fighting but uncapable of charming an adudience. Lucy Grey is instead the exat opposite. When she saves Jessup she does it because she is scared and needs someone to be with in that hell that is the arena, she also wasn't aware he had rabbies. Even if Lucy Grey isn't a fighter like Katniss, and isn't particulary smart, she playes with the cards she has very well. She also directly kills a guy by making him breath poison, if that isn't geting your hands dirty I don't know what is. Lucy Grey is just a survivor she is not a hearoine. Also Lucy Grey is named after a ballad where the main character (also named Lucy Grey) dissapears without a trace. She is not coming back anytime soon.
