When Denzel was younger before acting he was getting into trouble, fights, being on the street etc. This role was made for him because the man hes portraying has a similar background and story. Sometimes in acting you cant be taught things or express it artistically it had to happen to you for you to become it. This scene here we got a glimpse of what Denzel used to be like u can tell by the smirk he was like that

I’m from Ireland and if you get into fights in America you’d have to be insane-what’s to stop them from shooting you??

You can just tell Denzel could handle himself(at least in his youth). Even in the scenes of him shadowboxing, his form is good. Yes, this stuff is taught to actors, but you combine that with the confidence in Denzel's body language(and the story told by Jamie Foxx lol) In his prime, Denzel was definitely a problem you didn't want to have to sovle

This scene too realistic. All the small details on denzel. The gum, the bottle tap to the shoulder, when the woman pulled his arm became he was about to come back and confront the man. Seems exactly like something that would happen in real life

I noticed that too. Especially the other guy's friend who tried to mediate " *he ain't worth it. Trust me. Brother's got a lot of hostility in him* " *shakes head* Lmao that legit looks like a real fight was about to break out.

What's funny about this is scene is, because of who it is in this role(along with protagonist bias inflicted on the viewer) we kind of don't realize that Ruben was lowkey being a bully in this scene and the guy was just standing up for himself lol. The guy even immediately disregarded Ruben afterwards, started laughing and was about to start dancing with the other girl when Ruben was about to walk over again to futher antagonize and beat his a** before his wife stopped him lol. The charisma of Denzel just makes him do no wrong(Training Day is the prime example)
