He just had low EQ and she wasn't confident ( to me ditsy) to tell him directly or pick up that he just didnt get it or just on the wrong page. Both just never seem to get each other. My dad always used to say to my mum "I'm not a mind reader." If you dont say it directly he just wouldn't get it! Very frustrating man.

He is single therefor has done nothing wrong except his crass handling of it which should have been done in private so not to humiliate her. However that is also part of growing up.
