I discovered this relatively recently, but on steam, the franchise is called "Secret Histories", so I believe it is mostly safe to refer to the universe that Cultist Simulator and Book of Hours takes place in as The Secret Histories.

Yes, it was an intentional homage. The idea being these episodes are a continuing series from the one Dr. Peel started. It is also a bit of self-depreciating humor as the book's description of Peel having a "pithy view ...with [a] particular brand of unhelpfully ironical insight" is probably an accurate description of being on the other side of my ramblings on this channel.

If I may ask, where do you read about CS lore? Just from playing the game? Cause you ceartainly are amazing if that's the case. I have played it quite a bit and I would delude myself if I think I know half that you do.@@FantasticWorlds

I am a real life occultist and scientist. I am familar with the sources the devs used to create their mythos including Kabbalism, Gnosticism, Heremticism, Alchemy and other Western forms of esotericism and I merge those concepts with the evolving scientific model of the universe. The scholar I mention Dr. Moshe Idel is one of the best living experts on the Judaic Kabbalistic and pre-Kabbalistic lore. The dimension membrane theory is a real and evolution scientific model of the multiverse. Since Weather Factory used these RL concepts to develop the game, I recognize the sources. If you want to dip your toe into the history of Western mysticism, I suggest trying the channel Esoterica with Dr. Justin Sledge. He gives brief but informative overviews of ancient religous and spiritual texts. You might want to also check out my series on Control where reveal the Gnostic roots of the the game.
