You know, there are other reasons to like this than just "OMG THE BLUECOATS PLAYED THIS BLOOOO XD," but whatever floats your boat. It's a beautiful piece on it's own, no matter who played it. Yes, this is almost an exact transcription of their 2014 ballad, but come on, guys, give Vienna Teng the credit she deserves. Disclaimer: I do love the bluecoats, don't get me wrong; I just think it's unfair to give all the credit to them for making this song more well known, when, in my opinion, nothing can compare to the original whatsoever. No arrangement, no variety of instruments can compare to the electronic perfection that is Vienna's voice with the crisp harmonies she creates.

It’s an arrangement by the exact people who did the coats one… a marching band arrangement no less. But also who gives all the credit to coats? It may be known to most of the people playing it through them, but that’s not a bad thing and it doesn’t discredit the original, plus the video goes out of its way to credit the artist as the writer in both the video itself and the description. You’re just mad for the sake of being controversial

The lyrics are actually a reference to a company called Acxiom, which performs (or used to; not sure if they're still doing it) internet data mining and data harvesting for advertisers and their corporate customers. The final lyric, for example, reads "Now we will build you an endlessly upward world: reach in your pocket, embrace you for all your worth. Is that wrong? Isn't this what you want?" That "your" may in fact be "you're"; the entire text of the song is *loaded* with such hidden meanings. The overall gist of it is that we are all being monitored online constantly, and that the data we generate about ourselves is being stored, indexed, cataloged, resold, scored, and used to profile us for all manner of purposes both benign and malignant (in fact, former NSA analyst Edward Snowden actually severely understated his argument; I probably just popped a flag somewhere for typing that). It's beautifully written, very poetic... and altogether plain creepy when deciphered, all which Ms. Teng fully intended.

Bloo! This isnt the same one. There is woodwinds in this one. But just replace em with a picilo trumpet or a horn. Then ya got it! Isnt there suposed to be a high note at. 2:22 ish? Or am i wrong? And thats supposed to be longer. Its like the Bluecoats but not 100% though. Like 90%(woodwinds and some excluded stuff)

This was arranged by the Bluecoats' brass arranger when they played it in Tilt, so obviously just did everything he could to make a marching band arrangement that was as close as possible as to the version he arranged for Bluecoats. From what I can tell the woodwinds don't do anything special and are just doubling the part they share the same voice of, for example the alto sax is doubling the horn part. The biggest change I've noticed is he cut the front line percussion down to 2 of each, two vibes and two marimbas. I don't know exactly when Thrower wrote this version relative to the 2014 season (I know this was posted before 2015 spring training but publishers don't always post arrangements on KZbin until they've been up a while) but if this was written before the 2014 season the Bluecoats may not have had that high note you mentioned until after he wrote this. More than likely though, Thrower too l the note out since this seems to have been written for more of a high school marching band, hence the woodwinds.

How do you get suspended cymbals to work on musescore?

(I know this is almost a year late just bear with me) MuseScore's soundfont engine can't process cymbal rolls in a way that sounds realistic. If you're writing something that you want to print and perform, than accept the fact that it'll sound a little wonky on your computer, but it'll be leaps and bounds better in person. That being said, if you're writing something specifically to sound good in MuseScore, then there's a workaround. Instead of writing a long note with a roll on it, you write a bunch of 32nd notes for the same value of time. For example, let's say in the case of The Hymn of Acxiom (which is in 3/4), instead of a dotted half note with a roll, fill a bar with twenty-four 32nd notes, plus a quarter on the downbeat of the next bar. Mark the first 32nd as piano, and the quarter as fortissimo, with a crescendo connecting the ends. Now if you REALLY want it to sound better, you can change the specific cymbal sound MuseScore uses for the one specific part (without changing the soundfont, affecting the entire score). Open the mixer, and go to the cymbal part. (Assuming you're on MuseScore 3 and you see the same thing as me) There's a dropdown menu labelled "Sound." The default is Orchestra Kit, but you're gonna want to change this to Standard. Standard works as a suspended cymbal, and Orchestra Kit works as a crash cymbal. I hop this helps you out.
