I have 12 Roadstar II's. All from the year I graduated HS. "1984". And all of them from the "1984" case candy brochure that came with them. Also have the original brochure. I am only missing 1 model color. A forest green RS520. Wonderful guitars. Sorry to hear about your brother and father in law. May they rest in peace.

I still have my black RS440 I purchased new in 1984 (I think it was 84). Anyway, will have it until my kids inherit it. I also have my first guitar ever which is a 1964 SG Junior. Actually, I have never sold any of my guitars. I have a pretty nice collection now at age 66,

RIP James. Thanks for sharing the video. I was searching for my old guitar. Mine was the dual hummer model with the Maroonish paint. 83 I believe.

I think I paid around $350 back in 85-86 from Sam Ash Music in White Plains, NY. Mine was a dark red RS440 with the blade humbucker in the bridge and two single coils. I didn't even realize it had a coil split until my guitar teacher reached over and pushed the tone knob. I beat the hell out of the tremolo, ala Brad Gillis of Night Ranger, and that thing always stayed in tune. The pickups were kind of weak and the paint scratched real easy, but overall, it was a good guitar. A HEAVY guitar too. A few years after I sold it, I actually saw it listed on eBay. I knew it was mine from the scratches on the headstock and a chip near the input jack wiring cover. I wanted to buy it back but didn't have the money.

So, I do own a RSII PR (the one with the Humbucker in an angle). I also own a Jem 7V. Both seems to me very similar. It is something between a Kramer Focus 1000 and another thing just can't be explained. The both play for themselves. Just blow the strings, and it is like electric. I removed the original Humbucker from the RSII and put in a FRED, the first one ever, as you can hear on "Flying in a blue dream". It sounds so amazing. But still, the 7V is much more cleaner. How to be with one in love, when you love both? :(
