The blades really should be half circles, like half wheel blades. That way they can be completely tight, and still allow full tilt of the deck to pop nose or tail.

Actually I get the logic of what you are saying but they were more the 1/4 so even half would of been the same for a popping point. And normal flow. The logic comes into that the board can't carve like normal and thats how skaters do trick through carve even kickflips or heelflips.

It'll cut too much. You'd have to make a double edge then like a regular skate blade but even more concave.

It should be four cutting discs with double edge like a regular skate blade and with bearings like skateboard wheels, so this would need less push and would avoid the problem of the blades flipping.

There's actually a pat. This design is cheap and no stability the original ice board doest wabble do your research.

You can get these thick rubber covers for your shoes that are for curling so you don’t slide on the ice. They would work great for getting traction when you push

i would redesign the blades for safety. they dont need to be pointed, and they could have multiple blades like regular ice skates. if a skater lands on top of the board but his foot is underneath, that could be bad news. a redesign is in order.

The blade has 94 degrees edge so is not too sharp cut yourself and i can't rotate on the tracks, i use those blade for freestyle since 2012 and never get injury. But everybody make freestyle for own risk.

You need the same blade as a skate with the concave .Two edges.then it will flow better instead of hanging up.

Two edges work only on ice skate, because you use always only one edge. But the truck, with two blades can't lean like a ice skate. I developed for natural hard ice. In skating rink you have 30% more resistance because the ice very soft :(

I have been making our natural ice and zamboni man for almost 10 years up here in saskatchewan All I have wanted to do is board on the ice since I don't play hockey and we have 3 ft of snow here in the winter and in the summer gravel roads. I have been coming up with ideas for blades on a board just havnt put in any time to do it.Keep on building Ice Board Blade it will only get better !

@@braillearmyplus1497 the blades need to be longer. Not enough surface area. They should have the same grind as the hockey skates to ride on top of the ice. The single edge cuts too deep into the ice slowing you down.

You could get ice broom ball shoes. They are sticky and grip ice. The bottom grips so you probably would be able to push with them.

You need those cleats that stretch over your shoes. I had a board from the mid 70's really similar but heavy. I think my son still has it it was fun on the lakes in northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin. Hold a sheet attached to a pole and you could really get moving I remember.

If you put rubber guards on both sides of the blades only allowing like 2mm to be exposed itd be safer and stop it from cutting into anything but ice.
