I miss MKX Sub-Zero... not because of the 50/50 shit but because he felt like a true Grandmaster Sub-Zero. When I imagine what Sub-Zero would actually fight like it's MKX no doubt. He was calm but also intimidating asf. All of his variations were sick asf... Grandmaster with his clone, Cryomancer with his ice weapons, and Unbreakable with his ice parry. Even his skins were fucking sick. Imo his base in the best Sub-Zero has ever been but then we had Kuai Liang, Revenant, and the goddamn BLUE KHROME!!! Even CYBER SUB-ZERO WAS FUCKING GOATED... wasnt really too strong gameplay-wise but BOYYYY did he look fantastic .

I also think it has something to do with the slower animation style of mk11 as opposed to X and the low damage he does in this game. In MK11 he’s really good but like most other characters in that game he’s kinda clunky. And in MK1 he just doesn’t do enough damage considering how many flashy setups you could make

Johnny's fatal can parry lows as well as midair attacks. I dunno if it hit cuz it was a frame right before the parry window or cuz Ferra being thrown was considered a projectile.

I wonder if they’ll ever go back to mkx combat speed. I like mk1, but the pace feels a little mechanical still like they slowed it down so people can count the seconds of each combo to learn the timing or something. Definitely better than mk11, but still not as fluid as mkx.

I love ice clone but nothing will ever top mkx ice clone. It's by far the best ederaction of it.

MK9 had a great ice clone too. You can do a low attack and then immediately do ice clone and it would be in that position so if they tried a reflexive low attack, they’d get hit with it and if they low blocked, you could hit them with an overhead. If they did a standing attack, you could counter it, and if they did a standing block, you could throw them. It did not work all the time but it was something they had to deal with. Just another tool in the box for Subby.
