To be really honest..... Chaeyoung looks exactly the same with and without makeup, like she looks the same accurately about 98%. Nayeon also looks the same but maybe around 95%, she looks a little different about 5%, but she still looks fvcking pretty and damn gorgeous. I’m seeing a lot of comments about the beauty standards in Kpop and I just wanted to say that yes, many idols are insecure about what they look like without makeup. However, in a lot of cases, including this vlive, the topic of beauty is spoken and treated with a bit of humor. Obviously, many people are going to believe that their bare faces are less attractive without makeup. In this vlive, Nayeon and Chaeyoung seem very stressed and unsure of their appearance, but they are acting in a way where they and the viewers can laugh and joke about it. If they truly believed they were “ugly” or “hated” the way they looked without makeup, they wouldn’t have filmed themselves like that in the first place. The way they freaked out was from comedic intentions, and the comments left by the fans during the live were just playing along with lighthearted jokes. This might be hard to see through the subtitles, but please believe me when I say that there is nothing harmful to what they say when spoken and understood in Korean. Even the managers and their song choices were all just jokes. This just might be cultural differences. I’m saying this because I don’t want anyone to be too offended. Chaeyoung and Nayeon are just making fun of themselves a little bit because idols don’t typically take off their makeup during a live like that. And it’s understandable that they prefer having their makeup done. While I love how so many ppl are saying how beautiful they look without makeup, which they do, I just don’t want ppl to get the wrong vibe of this video. It’s all just fun!
