All of the Ikarus buses will be decomissioned at November 1st. This is the last month you can use them in budapest. Trolleybuses will stay a bit longer until 2023 spring. But all of the buses(260, 280, 435) will be shut down at november 1st. Ikarus 260s are the rarest in the city by this time, they serve line 161A,185, 117, 135, 99 only.

The Diesel buses will be removed from service this friday along with the Ikarus 405, the 260 And 435 got retired last week.

How old were these buses? Here in North America, we don’t keep buses that long

Does anyone have a date for when the Ikarus trolleybuses will be removed from service? Would love to visit before that happens :)

From the Ikarus trolleybuses there are only 10 Pieces (207, 229, 236, 237, 239, 260, 263, 266, 271, 275) in service, but unfortunately they are only on the school days on the main time and only 3 from 10 are out. But on this and on the next two week there is an Ikarus 280T on the Line 77 (this week there are two) which will be out beetween the main times too but will go out from service at early evening.
