I'm really tempted to give the HoverAir X1 a try. Like you said at the start, taking out a full on drone is a bit of faff, especially if you're doing a long distance trail. For me it seems like a great compromise between ease, portability and quality. Great video also Robin, it was great to see the different modes in action. Well done mate. 👍

Cheers mate. There's some compromises with the image quality but in my opinion it's usable for additional b-roll footage to change it up a bit.

Superb little bit of camera gear that Robin. You only need a slightly different angle on things to lend your edits an extra dimension. A reasonable price too. Maybe that will come down in time also. Thanks for sharing. Mark

Funny enough I have wanted a drone for years, for my channel and bought one on the Black Friday Sale but sent it back unopened when it arrived as (on reflection) I felt guilty spending all that money on something that was essentially something just for me. To be fair this looked great and I always only shoot at 2.7K and the size and weight is amazing but wow the price - yikkes! Love the easy of it mind, very user friendly and the snow footage was amazing, super crisp footage. Cheers Alan

Surely Mrs Metalman wouldn't have minded if you got a drone? It's your main hobby after the hiking itself. 😊 It is a tad pricey, keep an eye on it though, the price may drop once it's been out a bit longer.
