I really don't like the botanical garden between two modulars. It doesn't feel right for a big garden to be right up against other buildings without space / fences etc
@brickademyКүн бұрын
I agree. It is not for mothing they did not make it modular in the first place. Should be part of a great parc
@JonathanStanleyКүн бұрын
yes... should be in the middle of a big park with a lake, pavilions, and tree lined paths innit
@leonardoantonucci3080Күн бұрын
It’s a stand alone modular, only between two road plates
@ChoseManateeКүн бұрын
You could make an "arts district" with the natural history museum as another stand alone and maybe the boutique hotel in the same area of the city

It looks excellent when it stands on the right hand side of the museum at the end of the street. It also make perfectly sense to have a museum and a garden there.

Parisian Restaurant to te left and Botique Hotel to the right, and push the Botanical garden 4 studs back and make a sidewalk in front of it...
@buildingtogether4171Күн бұрын
Yeah, a bigger sidewalk would be nice. As it is, you could get it to be like the Spring Lantern Festival and it's 4-stud wide sidewalk. And you'd have to remove the back patio.

I’d love to see it recessed between the boutique hotel and Parisian cafe!

This is the first time in my life I've ever been interested in a botanical garden.

I feel like this would be LEGO's chance to introduce a little modular-compatible park area on a 16x32 baseplate. People could put a little buffer between any modulars that they don't feel work together too well
@buildingtogether4171Күн бұрын
That would be great!
@christophermcleod1353Күн бұрын
Built the botanical garden last night. The build itself was enjoyable enough. The use of stickers for such a hefty price tag was disappointing. I agree with the other comments regarding breaking room. It needs at least one extra baseplate around each edge. Pairing it with the museum in a city park setting might work. The downside is the amount of space required for the set to truly shine.

As is, the Botanical Garden is too short to sit between other modular buildings. There is a modification on Rebrickable to increase the height of the Botanical Garden by seven and ten bricks. That might make it better between buildings.
@buildingtogether4171Күн бұрын
Definitely. Adding height would be great. My big question is how much that would cost. Fortunately, there's time to save up for that!
@MartyBeckerКүн бұрын
Rebrickable is estimating $73 for the seven brick high mod (442 pieces) and $95 for the ten brick high mid (518 pieces). Both mods are by Brick Artisan, who does great modular work.

It should stand alone with the museum nearby in a park setting.
@mrsilly6155Күн бұрын
I love this set but it needs some space around it to breathe - a little park area. I feel the same about the museum - gorgeous building but to me it looks ridiculous just shoved right up between two random modulars and this looks even more ridiculous shoved right up between two modulars. I know Lego cities don't need to be realistic but when would you ever see a building like this a couple of feet from a bank, house, diner etc in real life? It's like asking 'which of these washing machines does the Mona Lisa look best hung next to?'.

It’s uglier than I thought. I am celebrating JOMO right now. I’m sticking with my Friends Botanical Garden, and I have an amazing idea of what I’m going to do with it now. Thank you 👍

I think the diner works really well, both visually and from a “city planning” standpoint; if the botanical gardens is a destination spot, it makes sense that something like a diner would be right next to it for tourists or plant enthusiasts to go get a bite to eat after a day at the botanical gardens. Maybe the diner on the right and Parisian hotel on the left?
@gjdalupang4219Күн бұрын
you could also try the corner buildings flipped on its sidewalk side beside the botanical garden, it works really well, giving the garden a bit of a landscape (you could also add fences/walls to the garden when you show it this way), I tried it between the sanctum sanctorum and boutique hotel, and it looks nice.
@bribbru6265Күн бұрын
Great video, good combinations with Parisian restaurant, Brick bank and Boutique hotel! If you have spare tiles, you could try to integrate it better to the modulars by moving back the flowers and making a sidewalk in front.

Anyone who actually gardens knows a botanical garden doesn't go on a city street. The buildings would reduce light for the trees & plants inside. Either in a central park area of the city or outside in a suburb.

Yes. Very seldom does a botanical garden look well placed next to a jazz club :)
@memyselftheoneКүн бұрын
Once I'm getting it and placing it, I'll very likely make garden spaces to left and right of the botanical garden. I don't want this pressing up against modular buildings.
@buildingtogether4171Күн бұрын
I'd like to do that, I just don't have the space right now.
@jeff9712Күн бұрын
I think it needs more breathing room than it’s getting up aside other modulars. My plan is to put it between two corner buildings but turn the corner buildings inward so there is sidewalk running up the left and right sides of the garden
@buildingtogether4171Күн бұрын
That would be nice. I'd love to give it more breathing room, too. I just don't have the space right now.
@LiamBrickedTheBed14 сағат бұрын
I just really don't like the exposed base plate studs. It makes it look cheap. For the price it shouldn't look cheap. A front sidewalk would have helped with the modularity of the set.

Maybe Parisian on left and mirror built police station on right?
@edoardom3677Күн бұрын
I think this set being turned into something else while still being a "modular" was a good choice. I could see it behind the museum as if it were its garden would make much more sense.
@jeremyfeeКүн бұрын
Great video, as always! I love these comparisons. I think it would be nice to see the Parisian Restaurant on the left with the Botanical Gardens in the middle and then the X-Mansion. Peace.

I’d like to see an update if/when you mod your Botanical Garden.
@Christian-il4feКүн бұрын
Why do You insist on scramming the botanical garden between two towering buildings? I think the glashouse needs more (natural) space to breathe on its both sides with a row of trees inbetween on both sides to separate it from its neighbourhood buildings and to expand the outdoor park facilities. Or maybe a combination with the Lego garden of tranquility?
@buildingtogether4171Күн бұрын
Sure, I think that would be ideal. Lots of green space, walking paths, etc. I'd love to do that, as would other fans. But for those who have limited space and/or love modulars, it's worth seeing how it looks with them. So while I don't "insist" on placing it between 2 towers, I think fans might want to know what that looks like before dropping $330 on a set.
@Christian-il4feКүн бұрын
@ Ok,thanks for the reply, now i’ve got Your intention. And Your favorite arrangement with the two smaller white/green buildings and the alternative with the hotel seemed the best combinations for me also.

In my opinion, this set can not be between the modular sets. This set must be in an open green space.

A fantastic video! What a great "gift" to your viewers to see the Botanical Garden neighboring the various modulars (all of them). I'm unlikely to get the set but do have most of the modulars and now I have a better idea of what it would add/how it would fit in. Thank you.
