Excellent presentation! I really enjoyed it and learned so much about Dudley Clarke. Before this, I only had a passing familiarity with his name, but this really brought his story and contributions to life.

Another catch up, what a great presentation by Robert, Dudley Clarke another person I had never heard about. Definitely a book to buy. Thank you so much Robert and Woody, WW2TV always at its best.

Great show, Robert explained the importance of the art of illusion and how Clarke was the master of deception. Probably the most valid point, in my opinion, was the saving of lives on both sides.

Fantastic presentation. Looking forwards to read the book. Something I love from the British in WW2 is their creativity, out of the box thinking . sense of adventure but above all the wit, Taking serious and dangerous task with sense of humour. British humour. I love it!. Also as Spanish, I'm very proud of my people , whom have been part on the special forces, S.O.E and S.A.S . Elite organizations that only the chosen can be part of.

What a great presentation of an amazing man. All great people have their flaws but I think Clarke's is - very interesting! 1 think that Clarke was very good to have around because I daresay he provided light in a very dark room at the time.

There seems to be an amazement at how military service brings out unknown characteristics in a person. I reflect on my years in the USAF, and I remember things I could never get away with now or dream of committing. It was a wonderful and horrible time.

After watching the whole video, as I came in about in he middle initially, I wondered if Dudley Clarke had ever studied "The Art of War" by Sun Tzu? Sun Tzu makes the comment in the very beginning of his treatise with "All war is deception." It seems that Colonel Clarke would have agreed. Another vision that came to mind was what wonderful Monty Python skits this man could have inspired? The cross dressing personas were so much a part of their humor. This is another book I'll have to somehow manage to acquire as it is brilliant.

“All warfare is based on deception, but my man Dudley does it with charm and great hilarity” Sun Tsu ……I was so happy thinking this up, but as an American I was late. You beat me to it and hats off to you. 😂

That was intriguing It was even better than Tinker, Taylor Fact better than fiction. Why do they make stuff up when they have this as a story? More Robert Hutton please.

Fascinating presentation. The map by German intelligence if what forces they thought the allies had in the UK had me wondering if FUSAG was kept up after D-Day (and by the same token the pretend concentrations in Scotland)? If not, would there have been concerns that the Germans might realize that it was always fictitious and reassess their intelligence gathering methods? If yes, what would it have taken as time went on? And would Patton leaving for the continent have made that job more difficult?
