I always say that if C Real was in Nigeria he would have probably been a very big music executive, the guy understands music and it’s business they are not to many like him in that Ghana! I just hope he has the opportunity to actually manage an Artist and put that amount of knowledge into something. As for jay foley sometimes him dey get sense other days he is just capping what I don’t understand but there’s also something if jay can just drop his sentiments for Nigerians and his thoughts that Nigerians are competing with Ghana he will be a good Radio and Entertainment journalist. For Lenny she just looks for one person per session and agrees with them😂😂 meaning She’s never here of there. Well for the two guest, the one on durang is making sense with his submissions and the one on colored shirts is contracting his submissions. Dance hall is from Jamaica you don’t need to claim it. Anyway I just dropped my opinion as a Nigerian 🇳🇬🇳🇬 who has used his hard earned Data to watch this video to the end😂

No matter what, you can’t copy another country’s genre entirely. That’s what is frowned upon by everyone as not authentic. You have to add something original to you to it. Even Highlife and Pop is like that. If we can add Afro to Dancehall it becomes our thing cuz even Jamaicans can’t do that. - if you try to copy verbatim and compete based on who can copy best, you are fighting a losing battle. 🙏🏼

There are 195 countries in the world today. However, not every country has a visible representation and musical identity on the global music scene. Only a handful of countries have representation. Twenty music genres have cross-cultural appeal globally. - Of these twenty, four genres are from Africa with global appeal: Afrobeats, Highlife, Mbalax, and Amapiano. - North America has Hip-Hop, Blues, Jazz, Rock and Roll, and Reggae (both Reggaeton and Soca are classified as fusion). - Europe has Classical Music, Flamenco, Electronic Dance Music, and Fado. - South America has Samba, Tango, and Bossa Nova. - Asia has K-Pop, Bollywood Music, and Enka. - Oceania has Indigenous music. Of the four global music genres of African origin, almost 25%-50% either started in Ghana or have some form of direct influence in their origins. My question to Ghana is: what is really driving this need for recognition to have been the originator of new music genres? As big as the USA is, it's been content to have originated four music genres! This clearly shows how difficult it is to either create a new genre of music or be attributed to having a unique national sound. Maybe the obsession of Ghanaian music aficionados with the need for the country to have a "unique sound" is a misplaced priority...

Mr Jay if we want a pool of Artist in one particular genre, then let’s throw the same light to the emerging ones as been given to the A list artist whether it’s in the domain of the Traditional media or the New media and Ghana will be bless with more Pool of talent hence as a potential consumption to the foreign exchange market so far as music is concerned.

Panel is clueless. No one seems to understand what Jay is saying. When Camidoh’s, and Olive the boy came out with their song, Africans thought they were Nigerians, because the sound (Afrobeat) is linked to Nigeria. If you don’t know Stonebwoy and you hear his song, you will think he is Jamaican, because Dancehall is linked to Jamaica, even Stonebwoy said people think he is Jamaican. If a Togolese rapper raps with an American accent, people will think he is American, because rap is linked to America. What genre does Ghana have, that when you first hear it, you will think the artist is from Ghana? The answer is none. That’s the message Jay is trying to convey, that Ghana has no identity. Most of the export genres from Ghana are linked to other countries. That’s what he is trying to say.

I think C real is making a lot of sense because that manager who said reggae or dancehall is the problem to in the industry just to have that right moral to even make such accusations, n yh is accusations because I feel like he is only trying to channel the masses attention to stop listen to dancehall and reggae music in Ghana but Afro music just because he feel like his artist is doing, meanwhile this afro music also do not belong to us, and funny enough this genre he claims is our problem is also what is winning for the country!? To be fair stonebwoy is the only raga or dancehall artist from Africa that won BET also shatta is the only raga or dancehall artist that got featured on Beyoncé music…… so my question is where was the afrobeats musicians when Beyoncé and BET was looking for musicians to collaborate with!! I think Jay needs not to even entertain any dumb manager on his show because is just selfish interest talks that man came to spill not to say anything sense for the industry…if he thinks he is making sense then he should bring back the adowa or azonto!! 😅

That’s the main problem with Ghanaian youth these days - mumu people. Go do your research, do you think it was only shatta wale Beyonce worked with? She worked with Whizkid and other Nigerian artists..😂😂…that’s Ghana’s problem - the Ghana pundits with lies and fake hype, and the mumu Ghanaians believing it. Just like in football, Ghanaian pundits lying to its people. Nigeria recently beat Ghana in the U20 championship. Ghanaian sports analysts were on their platforms saying Ghana is the best, and that Nigeria can’t beat Ghana. First of all, Nigeria beat Ghana in the same competition two years ago. If you do your research, Nigeria and Ghana have played 7 times in this competition with Nigeria beating Ghana 4 times, and Ghana beating Nigeria twice, with one draw. But Ghanaian pundits will come on platforms and lie and say “Ghana is always beating Nigeria” it’s the lies with Ghanaians believing it.

@@chidimma583 @vincent-c5z6n no it’s not necessarily a matter of competition. It’s a matter of putting your identity back up there like it was before. Yes we are good when it comes to other genres because that is wat these artist feel like they can do best to show their craft. They closest thing to our identity is the Afrobeat which both Gh and NG started but right now wen u mention afrobeat it has a NG face attached to it more than Gh. So it will be best if we rebrand our identity again and the best will be the Hip lyf and High Lyf, or the Nshona music, so many cultural identities out there and whenever it’s mentioned on the global scale we automatically know the face behind it. We have great artiste who are already in the Afrobeat space doing very well like the King Promise, Kidi, Kwame Eugene, Olive the boy, Camidoh, Kelvin boy and the Black Sheriffs. Attaching it to Hip lyf again will stand out if u understand wat I mean and see how it goes. The hip lyf and azonto did very well. Going back to it will great because Ghanaians really loved it. Don’t know how come it faded away. On the global scale, since it represents them, they’ll love it more and blow it up again cos I know my people. Hip lyf is literally the same as afrobeat. Others even say it birth the Afrobeat since fella learnt a bit of his craft from the early Ghanaian producers and high lyf artiste. So it’s a matter of going back to it and enjoying it You also made mention of hate. There’s no hatred towards you guys ok. Everybody is doing good in their own way because the cultural is different. When u said learning. U don’t have to learn it if it’s your culture. It comes naturally to you but I guess u mean the business side of things. I actually wanted to hear more of the local languages in the Nigerian songs instead of the English but Asake did that for me. And that was wat the hip lyf was all about. It was more local than foreign and it still made its way globally way back . Only God knows wat happened to it. It’s not about hatred in anybodys heart ok. Damn that’s too much weight to be carrying in your heart. Hope u get where I’m coming from
