This is the Asmara i remember, it was chic, sophisticated, elegant, clean, full of culture. Unfortunately this video shows 1969 which is the period of the illegal invasion & occupation of Eritrea. I can only imagine how many of those young people shown in this video went to fight on for liberation and how many of them are alive today?? I can only imagine.

I am still alive. Thanks but no thanks to the USA and British annexing us with the backwards Ethiopia and the decades we spent to get our independence made us still. We will regain our civilization soon. This was the time all African countries including the Arab countries were deserts and uncivilized specially Ethiopia. There is no country or people which are harmed by the west like Eritreans in the world. We will have the last laugh though soon. My people keep your heads up. We didn’t suffer for nothing.

@@Zenbassador You are missing the point. They were better than the Belgian, British and French. At least they left our language, culture and religion alone. As far as developing the country and the people’s technical skills they did great. How about Ethiopia? They brutally abused us, they caused our people to leave their country to establish Addis Abeba, they committed crimes against innocent people. At the same time, they looted and plundered our riches and resources while allowing the country to decay. It was death by a thousand cuts. We are still paying for it. Hopefully America and Britain will be held responsible for all the crimes they committed against Eritrea and pay heavy reparations. The same for Ethiopia. No good deed should go unpunished.
