This does assume you have no part of your life or actions on the flesh or any sin, as David said keep your feet off the path of the destroyer. If you still have any part of your life going on in an unrepentant way, that part of you is still going to experience trouble from the law. And when part of you is still under law, then demons have access at their will. You must come out of the flesh and walk in the spirit. It's a struggle, it's called sanctification, it's a learning process. Just attend some deliverance meetings to be sure you're clean.

Paul's people were Spirit Baptized and living holy or on their way toward it, so yes they were fully a new creation with their minds being renewed, our generation is still struggling with sexual sin and those demons, so not everyone is off the path of the destroyer.
