It doesn't happen very often but when it does it is usually entertaining. The 2nd hill of the Southern Rock Race at Bikini Bottoms proved to be one tough hill. This man made wall gave all the bouncers a tough time and nobody was able to make it out the top. Lots of crashes happened and made for some insane footage.

I was thinking watching this up till that one they need to build a rig super low with teh weight forward to get the cg as far in front of the rear axle as possible when on an incline, obvs not too common because ground clearance but a specialist set-up would be cool. You take that vehicle and put the driver from either 8:03 or 9:57 in there and I think they might have conquered that wall. The vehicle at 4:38 was the only one that dropped the front down quick like you need with an incline like that.

This kinda made me question what crazy sunnuvagun thought stacking concrete slabs at a 70° angle on an excavated dirt hill was gonna be possible. Sure the crashes are crazy and exciting, but that's a whole lot of money being wasted on broken parts when I'd rather be cheering for dudes who made the full run, at least if anything broke they made the hill get a chance at money to fix stuff.

I think the fact it’s so out there difficult is what makes what some of these guys have to push it to lengths they otherwise wouldn’t and with a little creativity and yes luck, you get that amazing jump that thrills the audience. Buddy looked like he jumped in the perfect shape of an awareness ribbon! If it were doable it wouldn’t have been nearly as memorable! Kudos to him on making such an impossible feat into something unexpected and spectacular! But yes it’s definitely not a cheap sport lol. It the kind of thing you enter to win money, it’s the bragging rights these guys want.

I reckon with enough tries and a lot of luck it’s possible (just) although the run up doesn’t help my theory. Theory is, wheelie up to the slab so all 4 wheels hit the slab together compressing the suspension giving you a ton of grip for a split second, then give it everything. Tap the brake when rear wheels get at or near the top to tip it forward, and give it everything again. Just a theory, don’t crucify me if you disagree. It’s how I would attack something similar on a trials bike, oh and I am no Toni bou either!!!!

Just to compare with what i know: Currently i'm working on my 1st "home made restomod". (68.6ci supercharged in-line 4, actually costs me something like 3k€/3yrs) Small budget i guess but it's 2 to 3 month of my salary. With children to feed i can't spend more. I don't really know but i guess it needs much more money in your sport. I'll just watch for these decades but after retirement who knows? BTW beautiful attempts of climbing and images. WOW, that wall, a few drivers had the front tires over the top but couldn't get the front down to grab, I wondered if a well timed shift into reverse to use tire rotation to kick the front down followed quickly with a shift to forward would have helped.(doubtful)
