Less that 10 riders looked comfortable and in control. These trail conditions really sort the wheat from the chaff.

Yeah, contestant number 42 was also one of my top picks. #36 was also pretty good. #88 and #91 seemed to have been the only ones being able to hold the high line, although we don't see the full run for 88. ... and if the conditions stay like that, Juniors might very very well be cancelled again. It's still raining there right now, maybe they'll get a break tomorrow. Tomorrow is quali + elite semi finals, the race is scheduled for Sunday.

My fav is definitely Gracey Hemstreet for the the win at the top “what the F$ck are people doing?” And then in the most Canadian way “oh sorry” when someone came up behind her. Then just immediately sends it without watching to see what people are doing. 1:15 😂

The high line seems like it must save a full second or more. I'm certain that's the line I would take. I've ridden extremely steep mud and the secret is make sure your wheels are rolling when you brake. Don't lock up the tires. Find the point where it locks and don't brake that hard. LOL easy to say I guess, but seriously, I raced Plattekill and the slope is 40 degrees on that hill. Absolutely sick courses back in the 90s up at Plattekill. Anyone who has been there would agree.

Platty has so much rock though. It's 95% grip even in the wet. Yeah, the shale slips on itself in the dry, but it's unlke anything else I raced East or West. I call it "rock surfing"

@@butchgreene LOL for sure. The rocks would all move every run and then form a berm. We used to call it the living trail that evolved into it mature race form. haha I loved racing so much. What a great sport
