Just release the Bolt ... Wait, it's stuck!? A mechanical puzzle that challenges your haptic and auditive capabilities. Is it really possible to imagine what's inside?

A great puzzle! Not all puzzles require you to see ahead to the solution. If you look back, first one slider was heard, then two. That's progress. Then spin and flip requires some luck to find, but that is okay! Its tricky and fun!

Definitly doable. When you try to solve a puzzle and you got stuck for some time and you finally figure out how to solve it, that is the best moment, especially with sophisticated puzzles.
@QuasiELVIS

I don't like this puzzle, there's too much guessing because you can't see any progression. The mechanism is fine but there should be visible sliding or movement on the outside to confirm correct inside movements. If it took you an hour and you needed to get an explanation from the creator then what chance do I have!

I really don't like all these puzzles which revolve entirely around the gimmick of you having to manipulate a bunch of moving parts you can't see or even directly touch. It feels like a cheap way to manufacture difficulty without actually having to create a very ingenious puzzle. You just smack it and shake it and spin it until something happens by chance that you can try to draw conclusions from.

There is a fair amount of 'puzzle' within this puzzle but people aware of the various and most common mechanisms or solutions in small enclosed puzzles will try or attempt them in an orderly or systematic fashion. Sadly, for people who are offering negative feedback and using 'I know people agree with me too' fallacy, are just being salty about it. This puzzle is a great puzzle, pretty hardcore and a lot of time and effort to make it hardcore has went into it!

I agree with you about the puzzle being impossible. The spinning move is not only random, but it also doesn’t give that feedback the other moves give, to know what’s going on inside. Probably they had to make visible the part where the left, right and center pins touch.

Hello Eric. I don't like mitre joints so I never do them for any of my woodwork projects. But I did chamfer the corners and the edges, for a really nice soft feel.....but only very slightly, approx 1.5mm (only visible in the closeups) Also the finish is my own beeswax, turpentine and boiled linseed recipe - finger applied ! :-)

Great puzzle idea and implementation... but this is the exact kind of puzzle that would drive me bonkers in the end. I like more logic driven / outside of the box thinking puzzles then ones that rely on luck from deliberately hiding parts of it. So... yes I think this puzzle may have been over implemented/puzzled.... But having said that I still think it is an awesome design. Thanks again for the video Mr. Puzzle!

I really enjoy watching your puzzlesolving videos! I find it impressive, your way of thinking. My own brain is like the sock-drawer with all socks not paired.. ;) One minor thing though... I sometimes (quite often) find the background music a bit disturbing, since it hides sounds from the puzzle and also interferes with your voice. But I realize that you maybe use it as a mind focusing thing, or something like that, and if so, I can't really say anything about it.. I just wanted to mention it. Anyways, thanks a lot for your entertaining videos! Please keep on doing them!

Honestly I MUCH prefer puzzles that rely on logic and deduction. Even with the audio cues, you don't get a good idea how the mechanism functions and is more or less just a progress indicator. It's also hard to tell if you've lost that progress afterward since it's easy to make the assumption that you might need to put one of them back into their original position. It also would've been nice if the puzzle allowed you to open it after you solve it so you can see the mechanism.

Would the spin move work with the puzzle on its face, instead of on edge? The two top pins should still separate, and the spin would also move the final locking pin up clear of the hole? Probably hard to accomplish with the bolt sticking out, though...
@Dargonhuman
@Dargonhuman 5 жыл бұрын
No, it needs to be on an edge for the centrifugal force to pull the two top pins in the opposite directions they need to move. Those same forces would pull both pins in the same direction if spun on a face.
