Well I think the title says it all. Today we're going to be keeping in in the family (if you know what I mean) in Crusader Kings 3, Habsburg style. Now it's crazy, I know, but before this happens we were actually building a nice little Kingdom and unifying Sardinia. Making a wonderful dynasty all about making money and trade to make Sardinia the greatest island in the Mediterranean. All of this was great and amazing until the King aka a father of multiple children discovered the truth about his lovely little kids and family. I will let you guys find out the rest by watching the video :)
We're gonna be back with some HOI4 in the next video into yet another CK3 video where we are going to be going for the Roman Empire achievement. Rome will be reformed and it will be done by a small little count. Count to Roman Empire. BE READY FOR IT! SEE YA IN A FEW DAYS WOOOO!!!!

Tommy you're one of the only people I've seen that like the game the way I do, just choosing a random dude and building him up to become a great and mighty empire. My biggest achievement was starting as a count in frisia under Lotherania, and then in 200-300 years I was the mightiest kingdom of Frisia and I toyed with italy and such. It was so awesome, because it was really hard, I had to fight for every single county and had many setbacks, but eventually it was all worth it. You should do these even more often!

@@nightshade2313 UI is not fine. They de-colorised everything that looked better in ck 2 like the trait backgrounds. Top and bottom alerts/windows are obnoxious and cover each other all the time with no option to resize elements separately or disable some things for good, etc... Thankfully the gameplay itself is not empty garbage like imperator at launch and the annoying ui flaws can be fixed with mods. (anyone even still remembers imperator?)

Don't know if you are aware but if you have 1500 prestige you can turn your duchy elective by clicking on the ducal title and changing laws and it means you only have to win an election (guaranteed if you and your heir own all counties in the duchy) to keep the duchy under one person. It is particularly useful if you are a king to keep your capital duchy as I don't even change the kingdom over to elective and get to keep everything I want.

Sardinia is my favourite start from CK2 and CK3. Holy wars, becoming part of the Byzantine empire, capturing parts of france every time it fractures, becoming target for jihad, converting and becoming target for a holy war and converting.

In real history, the Kingdom of Sardinia was the precursor of the Kingdom of Italy (the Savoia family was the owner of the title, and went to become King of Italy by creating the title on 1861). A little incest was involved, also (the first King of Italy, Vittorio Emanuele II married his cousin).

Rome achievement not as the byzantine emperor pretty much needs the "North Korea" Strategy so your vassals dont tear you apart. Essentially that is owning all the land directly once you reach over a certain size because the penalty at being over the limit caps at 90% penalty so it is easier that way, though it does make it less fun and you can never pass laws because of the like -7000 over the limit penalty you get by the time you own most of the roman land, though you do get tonnes of men and money, that without building up the duchy buildings which can allow -100% army upkeep and +100 knights as well as effectiveness etc. for the whole realm, as they stack really well.

For any noobs who want to emulate Tommy: play the southern sardninian count, improve relations a little with the northern one, form sardninia, vassalize northern count, disenherit youngest son and if possible the northern count, swear fealty to Italy and get Corsica, try to get independence when they are weak
