That's because there in the 3hrs lecture, you are expecting the lecturer to come and put in your head without YOU trying to make an effort. That is spoon feeding you were expecting. My question to you is: Where would you record refunds and returns in the lifecycle of sales transactions? Would a refund be recorded as an Expense or Liability? The Double-Entry for Refunds would credit Liabilities or Cash (depending on how the refund is processed) and the other side would most likely be a debit to revenue (to reduce 'gross revenue' in the income statement).
