Saying the pels without zion is too weak to compete in the west is a crazy take. If you take the biggest star from every team, I’d still have the pelicans at the top. One of the biggest reasons they’re at the top as is. Denver (without jokic) vs Pelicans (without Zion) . The pels still have 7-8 other players that can drop 30 on any given night if given the minutes

Zion doesn’t play the bench yet the pelicans have the #2 bench net rtg in the league. CJ McCollum is a proven veteran. BI is the most underrated shot maker. The degree of difficulty+efficiency on his shots leads the league. Herb Jones is a top 3 defender. Dyson Daniels(bench) has more potential that herb and at 20 is an elite defender already. Jordan Hawkins is a elite shooter with no minutes available. Trey Murphy can shoot from the logo before you get a chance to contest and hit 50-70% any given night.
