the doors weren’t always locked, and there are some little back way squeezes to get in. such a weird place to be as a kid but i relish those moments nowadays

Where are the back ways to get in? I tried to get in once but the doors were locked, and they put concrete barriers in front of the doors.
@colekombrinck Жыл бұрын
@@fredbetts3514 they’re essentially manholes. there’s a couple that aren’t directly on the road but i don’t exactly remember where. sorry about that

I went and they had the doors welded shut and concrete pullers I front of the doors

@@calebdrake8066 it’s been awhile since I’ve been in the subway tunnels but we entered another way. If you go further south & keep looking into the land area between the I-75 highway you will see a large concrete square hole. It’s probably 30 feet long & 5 feet wide & 12 feet deep. There are window opening a few feet up (not really windows cause there are no glass) & you climb up & shimmy yourself in. I’d say this is close to downtown

Walked almost the entire length while employed as an intern at the City 's Historic Preservation Dept. True once in lifetime event, pristine concrete. The utility main was the biggest disappointment. As previously stated, the curved portions of the subway tunnel were not designed to accommodate the "at the time" subway trains, therefore the project was abandoned for one of the many reasons. Gotta love it

The real reason was money ran out.

So I went here two nights ago, and someone put a dang lock on the door. However, I went to the door with the shorter tunnel with the dead dear at the end of it. I will be going back to see if it’s unlocked again soon.

If I’d tell you, then I’d have to tell everyone right?! So I just happened to walk by and noticed it being unlocked, plus you see it in my drone footage. I just got lucky. 😅 I had no plan on going in.

I'll be honest, it was a good 2.5 miles of walking back and forth. So 5 miles of walking was a good enough workout that day.

@@RangerRickTV yeah so we ended up being very close to the end of the tunnels. We should gone a little more because then we would have seen the Race Street station.

One of the other issues that caused the demise is where they were making Bend curves, they made them too short and cars couldn't navigate it even if it did get completed....
