This was done through an employee suggestion scheme. Before this they actually had an internal system to heat up the cone from the inside. Amazing how such a simple suggestion resolved such a big issue.

Next procedure can be different on type of aircraft. Turn on the engine Power to . Mag start auto or manual depending on situation. Now you throttle up the engine. Normally in Airbus 70% things are automated so yeah instant startup turn this guy into 10 million pieces of flesh. However at idle Power it ain't much strong to take you inside die to pressure on ground but depends on scenario there's no guarantee.

Wind will spin the engine a little. Having the APU bleed on will not spin the engiune by itself. The starter valve has to be open to start spinning the engine.
