I’m realizing how many of these giants, truly some of the greatest musicians to ever play, were genuinely humble.

How many times have we heard / read / learned and grooved to Orrin. The perfect guy to reminisce about many facets of Music esp Jazz. His feelings of pragmatic Street Intellect contributed largely to the careers of our most valuable we’ve musical treasures ( The Artists). When I first heard Wes he was either on Verve or AM. And I was completely floored by how someone could simply reinvent an instrument with such fluent melody. I was so fortunate to have a friend of prominence learning from Wes. He told me now here borrow these LPs for a few days and listen to him play in a bit of a different genre on these Riverside Records. They will show you how Jazz can be played and how it’s evolved. This guy has played with the best of them. Wes was one of the truly accessible Guitarists may he be loved forever and RIP.

my favourite jazz producer on my all-time-fav jazz gtrst, Wes MontG. I wish i'd kept this series of vignettes I downloaded once from iTunes a LONG time ago. Invaluable documents on the most prominent exponents of modern jazz @ the time. His playing reflects his nature, warm & welcoming .. wish i could b like that. Belies the time he put in practising.

Wes doesn’t like perfect. 😂. His solos, like Bird, were never less than perfect. I’m sure that’s true of every take.
