Ken spent two days and nights with the crew of the last seaworthy LST from World War II.The LST-325 is a Navy transport ship that was crucial to the allies during World War II. Of over 1,000 built for the war effort, this LST (Landing Ship Transport) number 325 is the last surviving vessel. Rescued from Greece in 2000, this ship was painstakingly restored by the loving and skilled hands of an aging group of dedicated Veterans. Now a floating museum, the LST-325 travels the inner waterways of the United States, teaching the history of the vessel and the incredible story of how it came to be rescued from the scrapheap.Find out more: lstmemorial.org... the channel on Patreon:

Outstanding. My father was communications officer aboard APA-101, USS Montour, and I'm always eager to see WWII Navy radio rooms... but that's only one aspect of this documentary -- very, very, good.

Ken, thank you for doing this video. I know that there several WWII memorial ships around the country. I did not know that there was one that is a functioning, sea-going vessel that travels from port to port to share it’s history. I salute you for doing such. As a Marine, I thank you for helping to keep our great history alive. Keep the videos coming . . .

These men are heroes....and I'm hopeful they know how appreciated they are in keeping these "living memorials" alive. Thanks buddy...

Great Video Ken, these men and ships need to be remembered. Lived near Seneca IL most of my life and little evidence remains of the old shipyard where some of these ships were built. Its was an amazing effort at the time and should be respected and remembered.

I found this video because Third Coast Drone just did one showing LST-325 in drydock at Gulf Copper in Feb. 2024. Very good video, one of the better ones I've seen of a ship tour. My dad would have loved that radio room. He was a Ham and talked to people all over the world in Morse code. I have no doubt they were in the Lord's hands on the trip with that flywheel. Their guardian angels are all rated engineers, of course.

Nice, how they do this, my local ship does the tours with actual crew members, and vets from other ships. They've done sleep overs, and have a staffed barber shop. Rear deck is also used for movie nights, and I've took a free Krav Maga class given by a popular KM school on the rear deck also. USS Iowa.

Great video Ken, the LAST Dreadnought battleship in the world sets at The San Jacinto monument near Houston. The Battleship Texas. It's a huge beautiful beast of a machine. Only battleship still floating that served in both world wars and when it was launched it was the most powerful weapon in the world. Next time you visit your Dad you have to go see her. Shes due to be taken to Mississippi (I think) for repair in dry dock, but her move is about a year past due because of hull leaks. I have done a drone video on her, but yours would be much cooler. You gatta go.
