Yamamoto and Imanaga have been straight nasty. It's gonna be really fun when Sasaki joins the majors next year, too.

Lets hope the Chiba Lotte Marines would let him go at the end of this year. Apparently the conditions for him to be posted is to complete a season with enough innings pitched to qualify for titles, and potentially win a pitching award. Apparently his physical isn't up to standard for a full workload, so that'll definitely need working before domination happens

Clay Holmes in 15 games: 15 IP, 0.00 ERA, 16 SO, 1 BB, 10 Saves, and a WHIP of 0.93 This man is throwing up some insane numbers so far in his walk year

And of course my fellow Yankees fans wanted him replaced as the closer like 10 games into the season with Hamilton. Like yea Hamilton can be nasty when he's on but he's never been a closer and lately has given me multiple heart attacks including last night where feel like he would have blown the game in the 8th if Boone didn't pull him for Holmes. His WHIP is 1.77 on the season which is the last thing you want for a closer is a guy who on average is allowing two guys on an inning.

Something I haven't seen anyone talk about, which I'd like to see you talk about @Pitching Ninja, is how Yoshinobu CLEARLY looks to the right just before the throws a pitch. He looks AWAY from the catcher DURING his windup, then looks back just before he releases the pitch. It's really something interesting to me, and I'm dumbfounded that it seems no one has noticed this. I'm incredibly curious as to why he might do that. Working on his visualization skills? Kind of 'clearing' his mind just before the pitch? It's very strange.

Yamamoto’s Yo-yo curve ball is a kin to Ginoza curve (宜野座カーブ), which is a famous breaking ball among baseball fans of Japan, although few professional players put it in their stuff. It’s a breaking ball that created a whirlwind once in 2001 on 73th national high school invitational baseball tournament.

If Imanaga ends with an ERA under 3.50, even if Yamamoto ends under 3, I'd say the Cubs probably pulled off one of the biggest steals of the past few years easy. Wow. Glad Yamamoto is recovering from the Seoul game but WOW, Imanaga has been so sick

what is the difference between a 2 seamer, and a sinker? are they considered different pitches?
@PlaySA6 ай бұрын
In terms of movement, a sinker, as you would expect, displays greater 'diving' motion. A two seamer should maintain lift just like a four seam, but add arm side run. Two seamers should not dive at all. Honestly a sinker is more akin to a changeup or splitter, just thrown way way harder and with a slightly different grip.
@petervanzyverden6 ай бұрын
@@PlaySA so the sinker has less back spin, and is gripped differently than a 2 seamer on release?
