They’re roles are quite different, Palmer is like a drifting dribbler who can get into positions and score/create, but KDB’s role is much more of a playmaker Tbf I don’t watch games I watch highlights but that’s what I think

Nice video. As a Chelsea fan and season ticket holder of some 40 years, its a pleasure to witness first hand the emergence of this remarkable young talent. I appreciate Reece is our club captain and I dont have an issue with it, but as the de facto on field leader and orchestrator of most of our play in the offensive third, Cole Palmer would already be a standout candidate if the decision had to be made 12 months from now as opposed to 12 months ago. Most natural finisher at our club since Costa....best passer of a football since Fabregas..... an ability to singlehandedly win games of football and provide that illusive X factor (...dare I say like Hazard??) Time will tell if he is worthy of such lofty comparison, but there is nothing to suggest he isn't given his remarkable rise, outstanding footballing IQ and young age. His ability to remain so composed whilst under immense pressure with penalties is also quite remarkable for someone so young. Noni and Jackson did their best, but even their selfish foolishness the other week did not affect him or disrupt his perfect record from the penalty spot.. Bakayo Zaka is well established in the England team, but it is not beyond the realms of possibility that Palmer will have taken his first team place on the right by the time the Euros are over. He is already a £100m player and could well go down as Chelsea legend. Just so happy for him and cannot wait to see how his career unfolds in the Blue of Chelsea #KTBFFH

@@KickKorner Yeah, your video is very good. The commentary and clips used were well considered and filled in a couple of blanks for me regarding his past which I appreciate. With the greatest of respect though, he has shown more than just glimpses of a bright future imho. In fact, I would argue that its more apt to suggest he is destined for greatness. Much of what impresses me most about him is not even noticeable unless you watch him play live. When he first came he was a little "shy" and never demanded the ball very much. He was always very good technically and had excellent vision from the get go, but he still seemed somewhat unsure of himself if his body language was anything to go by. Things have changed dramatically in recent months as his confidence and standing within the team has grown. He is forever having little chats with Poch and his teammates during breaks in play and often points to where he feels his teammates should be during the build up. Its something that is not often picked up by the TV cameras but its quite rare for someone so young to behave like this in his first season at a new club, even though he is perhaps given more licence to assert himself because of the general lack of experience and leadership within the squad. Bellingham is world class and Foden is not far behind. I cannot help but think Palmer will be joining that exclusive party sooner rather than later if you consider his remarkable trajectory thus far.

I think we're witnessing the emergence of a Ballon D'or level English player. Yes, Foden, Saka and Bellingham are already elite and on the cusp yet they've had at least three full years playing to reach this level, Cole has had one...in a somewhat disjointed, mediocre team in arguably the hardest league in the world. Plus he rarely even featured in the first six games. He seems to have this Harry Kane-esque hunger to pad his stats either with goals or assists every game he plays. Haaland and Messi are those players with natural talent (Messi's case)/physical attributes (Haaland's) which the game comes easier to them. Whereas the likes of Harry Kane and Cristiano Ronaldo had to hone their craft as well as work harder to reach that level. Cole Palmer is a combination of both archetypes. Natural talent from a young age yet had to work extra hard to improve as he was very slight in his younger years. He was very close to being released by City for his smaller frame and doubts crept in if he could transition into men's football. That spurred him on to succeed even more which is bleeding into his first team game, he's unrelenting. Unlike most, he very rarely allows a game to go by without impacting it. He doesn't disappear in a games. This group will improve as a collective and if you add a burgeoning Jackson as well as a fit-again Nkunku, Cole could possibly reach those heights.
