THIS STORY:
Dennis Craig Jurgens was a 3-year-old boy who was abused by his mother and died in White Bear Lake, Minnesota in April 1965. Lois Jurgens was his adoptive mother and a prolific child abuser, who abused a total of six adopted children from 1960 to 1975. The trial of Lois Jurgens for the murder of 3-year-old Dennis made national headlines and was the top news story of the state of Minnesota in 1987.
THIS CHANNEL:
_________________________________________________________
The Angel face you see is the Haserot, named “The Angel of Death Victorious". The stoic angel is seated on the marble gravestone of canning entrepreneur Francis Haserot and his family. Holding an extinguished torch upside-down, it represents a symbol of life extinguished. Wings are outstretched and the gaze is straight ahead.
IN THE END, DEATH ALWAYS WINS. LEST THE FACES NOT BE FORGOTTEN...
This channel is focused on casually walking and viewing a handful of the thousands of forgotten names and faces at various cemeteries near and afar. Seeing their faces up close. And when able, telling the stories behind their names.
Most graves are unknown and lost to history.
Some are famous.
And some infamous....
....and some with tragic endings.

This case haunted me when I first learned of it years ago. I was born five months after Dennis, out of wedlock, and put up for adoption in 1962. It broke my heart to hear how his adoptive "mother" tortured and killed him. This poor little boy's short life made me feel so utterly grateful to have been adopted by my loving parents. Ron, thank you for remembering Dennis. ❤

We consider you very blessed. I asked my nuns in Parochial School at age 5 or 6 if I could join the orphanage? I already knew that my angry, bitter, tormented, absentee mom would be unloving. Furthermore, at age 7-12, became a nightmare with blunt metal, bloody beatings of me including my head as I slept, but was awakened by the terror and violence. Altho I became a widower on 9/11/2014, I thank heaven I got a loyal wife with great disposition & humour to match, for 31y ! 🤗🙏

She is the definition of evil! To burn somebody, that's a crazy horrible act. It's the act of somebody that enjoys hurting another person. And to do it to the little guy's genitals. It's so awesome to see everyone still showing my uncle love. While I obviously never met him my grandma Jerry would often speak on what she's feels little Dennis would have been like. Jerry (my grandmother) passed away in 2007 from Lung cancer. Her other son Dennis Mcintyre aka my dad passed away in 2016 My aunt Misty still lives in St Paul MN, Dawn lives in Florida and Rhonda lives in Texas. Grandma Jerry was the glue to the family and after her passing everyone just kind of went their own way in life but the thing that warms my heart is knowing my grandma is with Her two most favorite sons 💙 May they all rest in peace.

People just want to mind their own business and not be bothered:/ You know, people who insist that the 50s and 60s were the "golden era" and "the good old days" are blissfully unaware of just how much domestic violence, child abuse, and sexual abuse/assaults went unchecked and unreported during this time. That's one thing I like about social media and technology; victims have access to a wealth of resources and support, and we now know how to educate people about abuse, signs to look for, etc.

The Book "A Death In White Bear Lake" is where I first heard about little Dennis's story. The book goes into A LOT of detail about what was done to Dennis. Yes -quite a few people knew what a LUNATIC she was -and helped her adopt baby Dennis ANYWAY so she could appear "respectable" to the community. Supposedly -all her abuse of Dennis was done while her husband was at work or 'away'. No 'punishment' was bad enough for that witch !

It’s so heartbreaking what some little children go through during their lives. The pain and torture that they endure from their abusers is mind blowing.🤯 Their lives get taken away from them way too early in life. That woman that abused Dennis is beyond evil, I don’t know if there is a word to describe her. Hell is probably too good for her. How can you treat a child like that. I’ll never understand how someone can mistreat a child. All that children really want is for a parent to show them love and treat them right. The other stuff like toys and things are a bonus that they get. As horrible as the story is, I’m glad you told this little boys story Ron. He needs to always be remembered.💞 He never received the love he deserved to have.😢 RIP little Dennis🕊💐 Keep yourself safe out there Ron.🙂💟

I learned about little Dennis & the Jurgens children when she was put on trial. My mother had gotten a book about Lois the demon & also another book about another awful, murderous monster named Marybeth Tinning whom murdered I think it was *NINE* of her children. To know there are still women like this, preying on their own flesh & blood, has always struck terror in me. It just goes against every fiber in my being to do anything harmful to those whom are helpless. The Hart Family murders are in the same vein too. It is horrible to know that there are children, possibly in our own communities, suffering at the hands of those that should be protecting them. 😢

This story is truly heartbreaking! Where were the social service workers that should have been looking out for him? Why did the doctors ignore the obvious signs of abuse? Horribly sad on all levels.

Ellen, sadly no one wants to believe people can be this evil & usually turn & look the other way. I know this first hand. We had a Uncle from California that tried to get us help & a step grandma in Phoenix, Az that attempted to get us help. The grandmother even took the monster to her counseling appointments & the monster even admitted in the court transcripts she knew she was a bad mom & felt like she may one day go to far & it will be too late prior to his death she told this to the Phoenix counselors. NOTHING WAS REPORTED! The monster continued her horrific abuse & on my baby brothers autopsy it was discovered prior to the final act of ending his life my baby brother had a large R sided skull fracture in the process of 6wks to 2 months in the healing process undiagnosed prior to the L sided skull fracture that resulted in my precious baby brothers demise. His lil body had multiple bruising, scars, cigarette burns from head to toe per the medical examination reports. The monster even admitted to trying to drown him in the bath tub on at least 2 occasions of his lil 17month life. I actually have pictures of the bruising & cigarette burns along w/the monster putting him out in the Phoenix sun on pavement no shoes & u can see his horrible pain in his eyes 😢 I beg people to plz make a stand if in question PLEASE BE A HERO TO OUR LILS💙💙💙Help STOP CHILD ABUSE💙💙💙

@@fawneharrison9877 The story of your baby brother's abuse/death is just as devastating as that of little Dennis Jurgens. I have heard too many such stories over my lifetime. Sadly, hard to put a like on this one, other than as a Thank you for honoring and telling us about little Dennis. That woman, indeed, was pure evil. Question, though, what was Harold doing all this time to allow such treatment done to a child, and why was nothing suspicious thought of him? Especially since it is usually men that mistreat kids so horribly?

"Boy things were screwed up back then and they're still screwed up." Truer words were never spoken. Children are treated like second class citizens and so often there is nobody to speak up for them, to protect them. Some people just were never supposed to have children. My heart is totally broken for the Hell on Earth little Dennis endured in his short life. 😭

I have often wondered why the mothers don t keep the children if they really want the baby. What kind of parents can a young woman have that would not help a young mother with the child she loves? In my family and in much of my community, a young girl with a baby is always helped and counseled . This is the Christian thing to do.

The book that was written about this precious little boy was shocking but so well written and included so much information from family, neighbors, law enforcement, the kids she was actually allowed to adopt after Dennis died and also the work done by his bio mom to bring attention to the facts of Lois' demonic acts. I have a gift it seems because I can take one look at someone and see their evil. It’s in their eyes and their face. It was there in her younger photos and the older one. To me that woman is the female Ed Gein. If I was a relative I’d be changing my name real quick. Absolutely tragic for those kids and mental illness or not there’s no excuse. The authorities are as much to blame. That story made my blood boil and I don’t have kids. Would have been a tough story to research for Ron. 😔
