No other medium has impacted me like what anime has done to my life. From when I was a kid I’ve always watched speedracer, pokemon, and naruto without even realizing that it was called “anime”. While traditional film and tv shows are great, I never got emotionally attached to a large majority of them. Still, to this day only this medium has made me actually cry and made me truly invested into the sheer art that this medium has to offer. I’ve learned so much about the world we live in from anime alone, and it has shaped me into the person that I am today. To put it simply, without anime the world would be a boring place.

When I think of anime I always think of it as super high tech animated shows, now I think of Death Note and Your name, I always loved doremon ,anpanman, perman , I have UNI CLO clothes theme in anime from childhood, anime is a medium unlike others, but I am quite bored cuz you used your name bgm makes this over-emotional, maybe used different copyright free bgm. US animation are not all cartoon some are but there are good animation, not just cartoon animation.

This Video actually made me Cry! Excellent Work on this Essay, Great job explaining the more mature themes and Ubiquitous sense of culture. I'd say some anime actually do a Great job of blending culture into it without many realizing( for example the architecture in Attack on Titan is German I believe)

I don't mean to bash or something but cartoons or animations on US represents childhood. But Anime in Japan, represents soul and it's an eye-opening for us, inside stories that the world can't tell and that's why it's so beautiful and one of the kind. Anime saved my life by just watching The Silent voice, Your name and You lie in April. So I can't imagine my life without the art of Japan and I'm grateful for their works❤️ BTW, Your video is super detailed and beautiful! Good work❤️

Thank you for making this video and I agree a hundred percent. Anime or animation general, when done right can tell some of the most creative and imaginative stories ever in any medium. To this day, there have only been a few handful of media that has affected me on the same level, as something like Evangelion did. Heck just to name a few favorite anime of mine like Eva, A Silent Voice, Berserk, 5 Cm Per Second, Steins Gate, the Wind Rises, etc. have been some of my favorites stories in all of fiction. I mean I'm no expert, but there's just a certain magic when animation as a medium seemingly blends the realistic, surrealistic and fantastic elements in storytelling with a commonplace aesthetic Whether it’s the characters, the setting, the concept/plot/writing, music, animation, or just the vocal performances. Animation can take something true to life and run with it so hard that it eclipses the real-life counterpart and becomes its own beautiful, inspiring, and meaningful thing.

Gosh, that musical swell at the end. Anyway, I have only recently gotten into anime. I have finished 4 up to this point (AOT, SAO, Death Note, MHA ranked in that order). They are all in my top 5 tv shows I have seen, and AOT is my favorite work of art ever. Your video essay is a perfect synopsis of why I am currently so into anime right now. Ok but I still have no idea what anime is. Is it art style because animes have a huge variety of them. Is it being japanese and animated. But then people say avatar is an anime. The animes I like doesn't get better because of their anime-ness. It's either the plot or characters or themes. Except maybe sakuga. That's an advantage anime has. But then doesn't shows like spiderverse and arcane kind of have an element of sakuga. Anyway great video :)
