Hey guys and welcome back to Mad About Skin.. With the Inkey List sale now on I thought I would share with you the products from the brand which you might want to treat yourself to now there is 33% off and the products which I would still avoid even at the lower price point.. I would love to know your thoughts and feelings on the brand so let me know in the comments section below.. Love you xxxxxx

Definitely one of those situations where one person’s trash is another person’s treasure. The 15% vitamin c with EGF is my personal holy grail vitamin c! I’ve always found it to be a lightweight, non-sticky, non-oily formulation that yields super effective results on me. I’ve tried dozens of vitamin c’s and it’s my favorite!

The Omega Water Cream is hopeless on my combo skin. It takes 40 mins for a thin layer to be absorbed. I'm appalled. I hate wastage (of product and money) but this was 14 quid right down the drain. Just coz they're cruelty free doesnt mean their stuff will work, and they are also churning products out to cash in on the goodwill and hype. I do like the Salicylic Cleanser but the Omega Cream is so bad, I'm not going to spend any more money on this brand! (Lidl and Aldi are also cruelty free and their products are well worth a try, at least the price point is much lower). ❤❤❤

The Inkey List products have a 6 month PAO (Period After Opening) so you need to use them up fast before they expire! I purchased their Alpha Arbutin serum last year & it had already turned brown & gone bad before I even opened it. This brand has a very short shelf life.

I’m moving slowly back to Inkey List because of their formulas. They seem to be better for my oily skin rather than the oil-based The Ordinary products. From the beginning I used the Fulvic Acid Cleanser and Q10, but I’m adding. The Collagen Booster, Lactic Acid and maybe Tranexamic Acid

I love Q10 and Alpha Arbutin from the Inkey List, but I don’t know if they really do something beneficial for my skin tho. If they don't, I shouldn’t have to worry because they are pretty affordable so I didn’t spend a fortune to buy them. I just added an extra step to my skincare routine, that’s all.

I really liked the oat cleansing balm when I first tried it but have since had some annoying issues. Having it separate, or be really difficult to squeeze out, or having it squeeze out the top. Just kinda tired of the difficulty with it. For a cheap cleansing balm, I now use ELFs.

Hi Rob I only buy two things from the IL - the oat balm and the PHA toner. My sensitive skin quite likes the PHA toner for a gentle exfoliation and the oat balm is affordable and fragrance free. That's it for me. I used to use the niacinamide, but nowadays many of my favourite products contain niacinamide and no I don't need a separate serum. It's not a brand I use much from tbh and I'm not overly excited by a sale. Best wishes.

The only Inkey List product I’ve liked is the retinol. Even with my skin being dry and reactive, I found it easy to tolerate…I also didn’t notice a lot of benefits though. I switched to a super low dose tretinoin instead. I really wanted to love the oat balm cleanser, but it was too gritty for me. It may have been an issue with the product separating, because I haven’t heard others say it was gritty, but I ultimately couldn’t use it. I also tried their fulvic acid cleanser, but it was too drying for me. I still think the retinol is worth trying if you have sensitive skin or are nervous about starting retinol, but there really aren’t any products from the Inkey List that aren’t already done better by other brands at this point. It’s pretty disappointing, because the brand seemed really promising, say, a year ago.

I get along great with both of the Vitamin C’s of theirs that I’ve tried. Agreed on their moisturizers, though. Moisturizers are a product category where I really value a level of cosmetic elegance you just can’t get from the current crop of affordable formula-driven companies like The Inkey List and The Ordinary. Paula’s Choice’s moisturizers are my faves (although nowhere near the same price point-when I’m low budget, as I am often, I get along just fine with CeraVe’s. But boy the difference is noticeable between CeraVe and PC).

I have a few staples with TIL. But I'll admit I don't think I'll expand on them. I love the oat cleansing balm, PHA toner, retinol, succinic acid blemish treatment and their Q10 serum. These have been life savers for me, and I'll be buying them for the foreseeable future. I do refer friends and family to TIL, especially as a brand to kick start their skin care journey. Oo but I have to disagree with you, TIL rosehip oil is a good staple too.

Here's what it says on the bottle for the main ingredients: Azelaic Acid 10% , Polylysine complex 0.4%, Allantoin, etc. The texture is great and it doesn't pill. Absorbs quickly. Nice emulsion. I sent a note to Inkey List inquiring about it but haven't received a response yet--don't know if it's supply issues.

@@beckyenglish4783 yes! It’s a few things that I really believe can do good things for the skin: 1. mushrooms (I really really have a deep respect for mushrooms but also fungus.. They’re a totally different category of species they’re not flowers or trees and not animals either. That fascinates me!!) 2. Cactus/cacti… 3. Galactomyces/rice/saké 4. Seaweed, kelp and plankton and anything that grows in the ocean as well as the sea water itself. I also love Centella Asiatica aka cica, but everyone loves cica 😺😺😺 But absolutely, if you see snow mushroom in a product, it might be beneficial for your skin. I strongly recommend it. I know that Pharrell Williams have a skincare line called Human Race and that line has products with snow mushroom. I haven’t tried that line but if I see it, I definitely will! But look up Tremella in skincare. I’m using Revolution Skincare Snow Mushroom serum now and since like six months back. But I’m interested in everything with mushrooms and Q+A have a zink PCA serum that has other mushrooms in it and it’s nice too. As well as the SkinHit serum from By Beauty Bay, called Cica&Mushroom. That’s a really nice and soothing serum I’ve also been using for months now.
