These were so cool. You had mentioned previously that these tend to be your lowest watched videos, well those who don’t watch are really missing out. Thank you for allowing everyone to share some truly epic stories.

It was a pleasure to talk to you and earn a spot in the video, Bry! After years of messages and live shows, it was good to finally have a face-to-face, even though it's digital. One of these days we'll meet in person at a convention I'm sure. -Greg, aka Lithograph

Very cool seeing old dudes like myself reminiscing and interesting to see that some of them have never stopped collecting. This is a really excellent video series. I'm not sure how to build viewership for these other than logging some more videos in and promoting it on other channels. Not sure who your network is but I imagine it's pretty robust. I think this might have some legs.

I remember getting interested in comics (and the X-Men in particular) because of Amazing Spider-Man 161, which is a 1976 crossover that includes Nightcrawler and the Punisher. I lost that comic when my parents moved about 20 years ago, and I recently bought it and 162 so that I could re-read the story. I started buying my own comics in the early 80s when I was a tween. I got serious about it in college, but quit entirely in 1993 after graduating and realizing I was poor. I started up again in April 2022 after pulling my boxes out of the hall closet for the first time in 20 years. I still had about 1200 comics that I managed to salvage before my parents' move, which is about 1/3 of what I had before. Since then, I have purchased more than 7,000 comics, because I have NO chill. lol I even attended my first comic con (Fan Fusion in Phoenix) earlier this year at the age of 55. I am working on filling out my Uncanny X-Men collection. I started with #144-318. Now, I have everything starting from #102 (including later volumes). Next up... the first appearance of the Phoenix. Those are pretty cheap, right? Right? ;-)

I felt for Richard, I'm also from the UK, but thankfully I was born in London so when I was 7 I found my first American comic (Lois Lane #51) DC were easy to find here in newsagents unlike Richard's, which must of been frustrating! Marvel weren't so easy to find, but that was mainly because of the Marvel (British) reprints, so they did arrive on these shores so readily! I'm glad that Richard was helped by the comic books, I loved to read at an early age, and a few years later when reading books such as Metal Men, that really helped with passing science exams, lol! Great show!

It awesome people used comic books to learn not a “waste of time”. I bet you Greg has an unknown rival waiting for that relationship to mess up lol. Also the Stan Lee story with the back piece is really freaking cool!

It was great to hear how others have started collecting. When we were young my brother and I would get them from the AAFES Exchange on the air force base our dad was stationed at, at yard sales, local grocery stores and of course trades at school. Years later comic shops opened and gave us alot more choices but eventually I had to stop as life often gets in the way. I hope to see more videos like this, great job!

Man, Clay hit on some points about his LCS that reminded me of my LCS. I also now live 45 min away from the shop I have a pull list with. They let me come in once every month, 2 months, even 3 months to pick up my books, AND they offer 30% off all pull list items. Insane. Why would I ever go somewhere else? That level of generosity is hard to find.

Comic collectors get 💩 on sometimes but those that persevere tend to come out on top with some rarities. I saw a guy who had been collecting since the 60's and has had at least 10 copies of AF15 in and out of his collection.
