I didnt really see any cons with the minutemen ending. Just acted as a double agent for BoS and RR, and used the minutemen to end the institute. Sure both factions wished they could've been involved, but they're happ with the results. The institute is pure evil, so no con in destroying them. :D

"because of your actions ... the (Institute/BOS/Minutemen etc) went on to do such and such ... the ghouls at the slog were annihilated by BOS ... the mutants at Trinity Plaza continued to wreak havoc" or whatever. Well the ghouls weren't eliminated, if you want em gone then you can personally do that your self with the help of your faction of course, the way I see it, I specifically play with the bos so after the destruction of the institute, I make settlements I hunt synths, I clear neighborhoods I mass produce a robot army with the dlc ect. Actually, if you think abaout it, the institute has good goals, but bad ways to achive it, they are so afraid of going to the outside, that they instead send synths... Like that Warvick farm mission. You could send a representative of the institute, but no, they repleace someone with a synth so they can know if their melons grow well in irradiated soil. For me its the potential of the Institute that made me side with them. this is all lore in my head since you can really direct the institute after you become the leader but i would have the medical staff running hospitals above ground. The bio department distributing Non mutated seeds to all the farmers and id have synths eradicating all the raiders and super mutants. If the minutemen had wanted to capture the facility VS blow it up i would have sided with them. but every other faction wants to blow up 200 years of scientific progress and i could let that happen, even if the methods use to gain that science were evil the commonwealth didn't deserve to be robbed of it.

I agree with Kenneth. You are the leader of the Institute now. Even if the gameplay restrict what you can do, being the Institute's leader is a chance to turn both their opinion of the world, and the world's opinion of them around. Granted it came a quite a large sacrifice, but nobody would've been willing to give that a chance. The thing that made me hate the ending, was when in my first playthrough I sided with the Institute, since I saw then as rhe best chance the Commonwealth had to survive, but I thought that I could use the Institute and change it into a better group I chose the most friendly option when I recorded the Institute's declaration and then... Father asks me to kill the Railroad, I didn't think they wore a good choice but I also didn't want to kill them and then I go talk to them thinking: "...Maybe I can convince them to lay low for a while and then when I take control of the Institute they could come back..." How naive a was, this is a Bethesda game, choice means more work, and they would never do anything without being lazy I went into the Railroad's HQ and I talked to Desdemona, only 2 fucking options -Kill Railroad -Kill Institute I got so angry that I just shut of my brain and continued until the end of the game, if Bethesda doesn't care, then why should I?

Lol agreed, if I was the SS and become director of institute I would upgrade the institute rifle for synths or just take energy weapons from others and produce more synths and use coursers to lead synths into battle to have a formable army at my command,hack liberty prime to use, take mechanicist lair to mass produce hundreds of sentribots and assultrons etc to have a 2nd strong army to command, and can definitely wage war on 2 fronts send the synth army to brotherhood of steel and sentribots and assultrons army to fight against the railroad, gunners, diamond city, raiders and super mutants and blitzkrieg sweep them up and take over all together and if want to load up the train with robots to lay seige to Nuka world against raiders and take it too and put a courser to manage it with a battalion of synths, sentribots and assultrons to reinforce it and afterwards the institute would be the most powerful faction in the commonwealth and use green serum to cure Shaun and rule like father and son lol 😎

I dont understand why people think the institute is evil, with you in charge it should be easy to shape a good future for humankind. The problem with synths and men living together compares to racism in the past. Eventually they will live together peacefully. I hate that there is no way to side with the institute while being peaceful. They shouldve just made this is a linear story game tbh

Exactly. If they had brought back the Karma system from NV and 3 perhaps they can show an ending slideshow that shows what the sole survivor decide what to do with the Institute. With a positive Karma I can definitely see that with the sole survivor in charge of the Institute they can definitely use their technology to save humanity and perhaps even the Commonwealth. Just imagine the Minutemen with teleportation technology, they can literally teleport to any settlement in trouble in seconds. The Institute is just piss poor at communicating with the people above and that leads to a lot of misconception about the Institute. Resulting in myths like kidnapping and synths replacing people and turning on each other. They ARE the only faction in the game that have the technology capable of saving humanity in the long run. There is just so much wasted potential in this faction and it's rather unfortunate. I literally only joined the Institute because Shaun showed me what they are capable of and I intended to use that technology in a good guy role but unfortunately the storyline is just so linear that in the end even though you have become the leader of the Institute there is still nothing you can do to convince the Commonwealth that you are not what the people of the commonwealth think you are.

Toro Montana From what I heard Project Valkyrie does something similar, allowing you to actually do things as the director of the institute. Never played it though so can’t confirm. But really though I would’ve preferred New Vegas’s endings slideshow in this game. Although you can’t play the game anymore it gives a much more satisfying ending to the game. Showing the stuff you’ve done and how your character would shape the wasteland. Just like how the previous Fallout Protagonists did and leave their mark on history.

TacticalLemon nuke the mintutemen are evil, EVREY faction you join, allways leaves the minutemen to be spared, even if you join the raiders. And when you finally do a MINUTEMEN BUILD you realize that the minutemen just destroyed every faction, meaning you betrayed all aspects of the commonwealth, exept- for it’s citizens. They don’t even have knowledge of the old military, and the only reason they’re alive is because they feed soon the settlements, and they lack military training, also, they don’t come up with laws.

Fallout 4 was probably and probably ever will be the best gaming experience I've ever had. Even though this game came out in 2015, I recently just played it this year in 2020 (cause I wasn't allowed to play violent video games back then lol). I have never played a video game like that before. That first moment when my male sole survivor looked into the mirror, straight away I knew that this game was going to be good. I took my time with getting to Diamond City. It took me about 2 weeks IRL to get to Diamond City because I was more focused on doing a bunch of missions on the north side of the map first and building up Sanctuary. I'll never forget the first time I walked into Diamond City. I was astonished. I couldn't stop playing this game. The ending I got was Joining the Institute. Murdering the railroad in cold blood, destroying the BOS, having a weird crush on Piper (I mean c'mon, we all did right? lol), saying sarcastic things, exploring the glowing sea, Shaun dying after spending almost 1 month playing this game looking for him... This game gave me an emotion I couldn't describe. I was so close to crying when Shaun died. Joining the Institute is the most sadist because you and Shaun have this loving connection at the end. I'll never forget this game.

I couldn't/can't side with the Institute or Imposter Shaun. No matter how much I wanted my Son and Wife back, all I get is a BS story about saving humanity. Synth Shaun will always be a machine that looks, thinks, and acts exactly like the child that was stolen from me. I never got to watch Shaun grow and now, my Shaun is dead while a carbon copy that'll never age expects me to love it as if its my dead child? My Son died a looong time ago, and I came to terms with that reality when I heard everyone's stories and finally learned the truth.

Ong the main problem with fallout 4 is that the choices are no where near as in depth as they were in NV most answers in fallout 4 are either a yes, no, or a rare oppertunity to settle things peacefully. Hell they even cut out the ending where you can chlalnge maxin for the position of elder and therefore keep danse in the brotherhood.

@@Tywil714 Thank god Im not the only one here who actually has a brain, Fallout 4 puts you on a rollercoaster and it only goes one way, you are forced into an artificial means of progression with little to no freedom of choice and the freedom of consequence, you are either a goody two-shoes or an evil asshole like in Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas actually lets you do what you want to do, and allows you to be morally grey with your actions, the only good part of Fallout 4 is Far Harbor, because it is the closest thing in quality to New Vegas.

I'd like to see what they would turn into after the Synthesis ending. I think Synth production will be ceased (because of galaxy-wide convergence between flesh and tech) and advanced systems research will get boosted heavily, especially the teleport tech.
