Felldoh I figured Cloud was heavily requested before and during the ballot so even though I doubted it would happen that of course didn’t stop me from wondering what it would be like to have him in Smash. As soon as I saw space just like in the beginning of FF VII’s opening cinematic I knew it was Cloud. For me this beats even Steve’s reveal in terms of shock value.

It's mostly Smash Bros. is geared towards Nintendo fans, and FFVII wasn't on a Nintendo system until more recently in late March. So most really had no reference for it, then there are people like Maximillian Dood who got it right away that actually played the game back in the day

All youtubers / reaction videos not (instantly) recognising 1 of if not the most iconic (opening) scenes in all of video gaming are fake (dude bro) gamers to me and should be ashamed. Not only for themselfs but for there family, friends and there (future) offspring. What a sad and desperate attempt to get some clicks. Maybe they are in the final stages of dementia, otherwise its almost impossible. Its comparable on a level of : Not recognizing your own name. Forgetting how to eat or sleep. Not knowing what left or right is.
