56 year old "uncle" here. Even for someone like me who was around for the '71 India wins in West Indies and England, this series and the last match especially were something unforgettable. To win in Australia, at the unconquered since '88 Gabba, with an entire team worth out, after the Adelaide 36, is the stuff of dreams and movies. Very nice episode telling the younger folks about career options and especially Varun's word of caution about student loan debt - it is the absolute worst thing u can do. Here in the US, it is one of the types of debt that is the most difficult to discharge even if you declare bankruptcy. There are so many options now for studies and careers in India compared to our younger days (and my younger days were when even Bawa boodhey was in chaddi 😊) and it is (or was till 2020) one of the hottest economies, why would anyone want to go elsewhere?

Choosing Arts is shamed even now, and mostly in Bihar I feel. Like our state wants to manufacture engineers, doctors and IAS, that is all. So most of us are forced to take up science, if not forced then we choose it because we do not want to be called Arts students. And then we do our Science thingy, and then suddenly everyone wants us to switch our streams completely and go for UPSC and read Arts subjects extensively.

I am the only one in my family to have taken up Arts in undergrad and Law in postgrad after doing my science in PCM+Computer Science. And people treat me like a tragedy has befallen me. My cousins (one doing MBBS, the other Engineering) don't even have the concept of BA, B.Sc, B.Com, BBA, BMM etc. They literally only know Medical and engineering as two career options.
